Latest Update: TVS Retron is among India's most anticipated upcoming bikes and is likely to debut by the end of this year. According to spy images, the all-new TVS Retron will be based on the Apache RTR 160 4V. While the engine wasn’t properly visible in the images that surfaced online, it features an oil cooler. In Apache, TVS provides a 159.7cc engine producing 17.55 PS and 14.73 Nm of torque coupled with a 5-speed gearbox.
Despite being based on Apache RTR 160, the upcoming TVS Retron will have retro design similar to Royal Enfield Classic 350, specially from front and side look. It is expected that TVS could position its Retron model as a close rival of Classic 350. The chances for this is high because of round shaped headlight and taillight setup, LED turn indicators, and focus on comfort rather than performance.
According to sources, the Retron bike will have mostly iron-type body parts instead of carbon fiber. It will also have a single-seat setup rather than a split seat found in sports motorcycles in India. The motorcycle would sport a fully digital instrument console at the center of the handlebar, equipping features like a tachometer, speedometer, and trip meter. Additionally, TVS Retron is expected to get upside-down fork suspension in front and mono-shock suspension in the rear for a comfortable ride on long commutes.
Expected Price & Rivals
While the details are not confirmed, the TVS Retron is expected to launch by December 2025 and can be priced between Rs 1.5 to Rs 2 lakh, ex-showroom. The Retron will compete with the Royal Enfield Classic 350 and the Jawa 42 in this budget range.
