Latest Update: Hyundai unveiled its Staria MPV at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. It was the first time Hyundai officially showcased its Kia Carnival-sized premium MPV capable of accommodating up to 11 occupants with its four-row seating arrangement. The Hyundai Staria will likely debut in India by Q2 of 2026.
Design
The premium MPV from Hyundai features a futuristic design, which is highlighted by a thin LED DRL strip spanning through the width of the front profile, along with a larger grille and pixelated pattern headlamp setup on the bumper. Like Carnival, the upcoming Hyundai MPV in India has massive window panels and sliding rear doors. On the rear, it gets vertically positioned taillamps.
Interior
The cabin space looks premium and has a minimalist design. The dashboard has a steering wheel similar to the Hyundai Creta, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital driver display, and 64-color ambient lighting. The Hyundai MPV also boasts a 12-speaker Bose sound system, ‘Relaxation’ seats, wireless charging, a USB-C charging port, and two-zone air conditioning.
Safety
The Hyundai Staria MPV has several safety features like a blind spot view monitor, surround view, tilt and telescopic steering wheel adjustment for comfort and drive safety, and an auto-dim rearview mirror. The Staria also has six airbags as standard, safe exit assist, a three-point seatbelt for all passengers, lane keep assist, highway drive assist, and forward collision avoidance assist features.
Powertrain
Hyundai will likely offer the upcoming Staria MPV in two powertrain options: a 3.5-liter turbo petrol and a 2.2-liter diesel engine. The 3.5-liter turbo petrol can produce 282 PS and 331 NM of maximum torque paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The 2.5-liter diesel engine comes mated with a 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic transmission and delivers 177PS and 431 Nm of torque.
Price & Rivals
The Hyundai Staria's price in India is expected to start from Rs 50 lakh and go up to Rs 55 lakh. After launching in India, the premium MPV will be positioned as a strong competitor of the Kia Carnival.
