Latest Update: After launching the Tata Harrier EV on June 3, 2025, Tata Motors plans to debut its Safari EV in the Indian automobile market. Tata Safari EV is expected to be built on the Gen 2 EV platform and feature higher battery capacity than the newly launched Harrier.ev, offering a maximum range of 500 km on a single charge.
The Safari electric SUV will also come mated with the all-wheel drive system, which is ideal for adventure and off-road drive purposes. According to sources, Tata Safari EV will be launched by the end of this year, possibly during the festive season to attract more sales. However, it may be priced on the higher end compared to Harrier EV.
In terms of design and aesthetics, the model will maintain a bold stance with a modern look, featuring a closed-off grille, aerodynamic alloy wheels, and a futuristic LED light setup. The cabin area of the Safari EV will offer a premium and comfortable feel. It will also sport cutting-edge features and connectivity options to make each trip memorable. It is expected that Tata Motors can offer a large touchscreen infotainment system and digital instrument cluster, as seen in the recently launched Harrier EV.
As the upcoming Safari EV will be built on the Gen 2 EV platform, it will have a large battery pack and a high-performance electric motor, making up impressive power output and torque delivery. Meanwhile, Tata’s electric SUV is anticipated to have fast charging capabilities, allowing the vehicle to charge up to 80% in just 60 minutes.
Expected Price & Rivals
Tata Safari EV price in India is expected to commence from Rs 25 lakh and go up to Rs 32 lakh. After launching in the Indian automobile market, the EV will compete against MG ZS EV, Hyundai Kona Electric, BYD Atto 3, and Mahindra XEV 9e.
