Latest Update: Yamaha India unveiled its entry-level dual-purpose motorcycle at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo. The two-wheeler manufacturer already sells this sports bike in Brazil and is now poised to launch it in India. The upcoming Yamaha Lander 250 will be the brand’s entry-level model for adventure and sports bike lovers. While the launch details are not confirmed, the Yamaha Lander 250 is expected to launch in India by October 2025.
Engine
The Yamaha Lander 250 has a 249cc single-cylinder petrol engine. The same engine configuration is also offered in the Yamaha FZ25, one of the best-selling entry-level sports bikes from the two-wheeler brand. The engine unit makes up 20.5 bhp of power output and 20.6 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 5-speed gearbox for smooth shifts and better ride quality. The motorcycle has a 150 kg curb weight, allowing agile and responsive rides on city roads and highways. The 230 mm ground clearance is ideal for off-road or adventure ride requirements.
Design
The bike will have a modern design and features to attract Gen Z riders. It may have a prominent LCD instrument cluster to display essential information like speed, fuel levels, and trip data. The bike will have several connectivity options for added convenience, particularly in long-distance solo or group trips. The availability of an LED lighting setup adds to its modern design dimensions and ensures clear visibility during night or low-light ride requirements. Its raised handlebars with the fuel tank's sharp shape and the foot pegs' position are designed to provide maximum comfort. The wire-spoke wheels make it look more adventure-friendly. Yamaha can offer multiple color options like Matte Green, Solid Red, Matte Grey, and Metallic Red.

Yamaha has equipped its upcoming Lander 250 bike with 220 mm telescopic front forks and 204 mm rear mono-shock suspensions for reliable performance in ride conditions. It rides on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoke wheels and is wrapped with dual-purpose tires for superior grip and balanced performance. The motorcycle gets a disc brake setup on both ends for braking duties. The high-mounted components and rugged build quality also position the bike as a prominent option for long-distance road trips and adventure ride requirements.
Expected Price & Rivals
The Yamaha Lander 250 motorcycle is anticipated to have a price tag of Rs 1.70 lakh to Rs 1.90 lakh, ex-showroom. After launching in the country, the sports adventure motorcycle will compete with Kawasaki KLX 230 and Hero Xpulse 210. With its rugged build quality, adventure-friendly driving modes, and segment-leading specifications, the model will likely see an overwhelming response from customers looking for sports and adventure-ready motorcycles.
