Maruti Swift

The new Maruti Suzuki Swift comes with a 1.2-liter four-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine and K12 Dual Jet Dual VVT motor. The same motor runs in the Dzire as well. Due to this, the power is up by 7bhp to 89bhp while the max torque of 113Nm remains the same. The Dual VVT stands for 'variable valve timing for both intake and exhaust valve. The EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) system has also been improved and the presence of an idle-start stop function makes this new motor more powerful and effective. The manual version we have here has a claimed ARAI fuel efficiency of 23.20kmpl, while the AMT version is good for 23.76kmpl.

Externally, the updated Swift has not been much changed but you can find a mesh grille instead of the previously used fish-mouth grille. Another new addition is the presence of a chrome strip that runs through the center of the grille to add a bit of zing. The projector headlamps right at the front look amazing and the LED daytime running lights are in amalgamation with integrated circular fog lamps on the lower bumper, The sides have the hidden rear door handle which still is one of the spotlights in the Swift, and the muscular looks due to the presence of shoulder arches makes the car a complete package. LED taillamps and minimalistic design to the bumper and boot at the rear are what make the entire car, easy to the eyes.

In addition to cruise control, it has a height-adjustable driver seat, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, auto air conditioning, and LED headlights with LED DRLs. Its safety features include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (AMT only), hill hold control (AMT only), and rear parking sensors.
