Latest Update: The premium and sportier version of Gloster, MG Majestor, is expected to hit the Indian automobile market in May 2025. The upcoming Majestor will rival the Toyota Fortuner, Nissan X-Trail, Jeep Meridian, and Skoda Kodiaq in the full-size SUV segment.
MG Majestor was first showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 and is now confirmed to launch in India in May 2025. The MG Majestor is based on the Maxus D90, on sale in select global markets. It has a large front grille with a gloss black finish, a split headlamp design in front with DRLs placed above the hood, and the main headlamps near the bumper.
The Majestor is the premium and sportier version of the Gloster and is confirmed to feature 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and connected tail lamps with a wraparound design, dual exhaust tips, and chunky skid plates.
While JSW MG Motor India does not publicly disclose the interior specifications, it is expected to have similar features and amenities offered in the MG Gloster. It may feature an all-black finished cabin with a wireless phone charger, electric tailgate, premium sound system, tyre pressure monitoring, 360-degree camera, and electronic parking brake.
This upcoming MG SUV will also have Level 2 ADAS and an auto-hold feature. It sports a free-standing 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen and a new digital instrument cluster for the driver to get personalised options.
MG Majestor is anticipated to come with the same engine options available in MG Gloster, including a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine that also powers the higher-spec variants of the Gloster SUV. The motor is mated with an 8-speed automatic gearbox, delivering a power output of 212.5 bhp and 478.5 Nm of torque.
The full-size SUV will get an optional 4x4 drivetrain system. A less powerful 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine is also available that produces 158.7 bhp and 373.5 Nm of torque.
The upcoming MG Majestor SUV is expected to be priced between Rs 39.57 lakh and Rs 44.03 lakh, ex-showroom. If launched, Majestor will compete against Toyota Fortuner, Nissan X-Trail, Jeep Meridian, and Skoda Kodiaq.
