Latest Update: Tata Punch was first launched in India on October 18, 2021, and positioned as the country’s first micro-SUV. It also became the first car of its size to secure a 5-star Global NCAP safety rating. As per available data, Tata has sold over 5,00,000 units of the Tata Punch, including its ICE and electric variants. India’s leading automobile manufacturer is gearing up to launch a facelifted version of the Punch SUV.
The Tata Punch facelift was recently spotted during its road test, and some images were leaked online, hinting at subtle design changes, particularly around the car's front fascia. The SUV is also expected to have major interior upgrades, including an infotainment setup.
After the launch of the Tata Altroz facelift, the Punch was the only vehicle in Tata’s portfolio having an old generation interior design theme, and with the facelift launch the automaker aims to fix this issue.
In spy shots of the facelifted Punch, it was revealed that the sub-compact SUV will get a new leatherette wrapped 2-spoke modern steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo. One of the noticeable feature upgrades in the Tata Punch facelift could be the addition of a 7-inch TFT instrument cluster that will provide essential information with better visibility.
However, the automaker is likely to continue offering the same manual handbrake, cup holders, wireless charging pad, front center armrest, and fabric seat upholstery. On the exterior, the Punch facelift is expected to get a similar front fascia to the Punch EV for a more modern and upmarket look.
The powertrain and gearbox configuration is also expected to continue in the upcoming Tata Punch facelift, meaning it will get the same 1.2-liter 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, offering 86 bhp and 113 Nm of torque and an i-CNG bi-fuel setup option, delivering 73.4 bhp and 103 Nm of torque. The petrol-engine powered Punch facelift model could have a 5-speed manual or automatic gearbox.
The Tata Punch facelift launch is expected in September 2025 or during the festive season.
Expected Price & Rivals
Tata Punch facelift's expected price can range between Rs 6 lakh to Rs 11 lakh, ex-showroom. The model will likely face competition from Nissan Magnite, Renault Triber, Hyundai Exter, Renault Kiger, Toyota Taisor, and Citroen C3.
