Latest Update: Mahindra XEV 7e is one of India's most anticipated upcoming electric cars. Mahindra XEV 7e will be the all-electric version of the XUV700 ICE model. India’s only SUV brand, Mahindra, has already launched two flagship electric SUVs in the country, the BE6 and XEV 9e, and both are based on the automaker's INGLO platform.
Now, the homegrown automobile manufacturer plans to launch the XEV 7e SUV, which will underpin the same INGLO platform and offer two battery pack options, 59 kWh and 79 kWh. Mahindra’s upcoming electric car is also expected to offer up to 650 km of maximum range on a single charge and support fast charging.
There is no official confirmation about the launch date of XEV 7e, but it's expected that the electric SUV will launch by the end of this year.
Mahindra XEV 7e's exterior will likely borrow design cues from its ICE counterpart, the XUV700 SUV. However, the EV will have new front and rear bumpers, refreshed alloy wheels, and a blanked-off grille in front. Recently surfaced spy shots reveal that the EV will have a split LED headlamp setup, L-shaped DRLs, and flush door handles.
Inside the cabin, the XEV 7e will sport dual-tone interior upholstery, ambient lighting, three three-screen displays for infotainment and instruments, and a panoramic sunroof. It will also feature a two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated ‘Infiniti’ logo seen in Mahindra’s new range of vehicles. The upcoming Mahindra XEV 7e will be a feature-loaded electric SUV similar to another electric model from the automaker.
Expected Price & Rivals
The Mahindra XEV 7e expected price in India can range between Rs 21 lakh to Rs 30 lakh, ex-showroom. It will likely launch in July 2025 and compete strongly with the Tata Safari EV.
