Latest Update: The Hyundai Ioniq 6 was first showcased at the Auto Expo 2023 as a fully electric mid-size sedan in India. As a premium production in Hyundai’s electric portfolio, the Ioniq 6 has a fastback design borrowed from the ‘Prophecy’ concept. The Hyundai Ioniq 6 will likely strengthen the brand’s image in the high-end EV segment with a coupe-like roofline, robust powertrain configuration, and premium features.
Design
Hyundai offers 12 exterior color options and two-wheel designs for the Ioniq 6 electric sedan customers. The EV gets a streamlined silhouette with a sharp bonnet and a sleek LED DRL setup. It comprises flared-out fenders that add to its wider stance and lightweight wheels. On the rear end, there is a ducktail spoiler and a large wing to improve the aerodynamic efficiency of this premium electric sedan. The taillamp setup of the Ioniq 6 features pixel-shaped LED lighting.
Features
Inside the cabin, the upcoming Hyundai Ioniq 6 sedan gets several tech features like a dual 12.3-inch screen, one for a digital driver display and another for a touchscreen infotainment system. The Hyundai EV also features an 8-speaker Bose sound system with a subwoofer, wireless phone charger, ambient lighting, and Hyundai’s vehicle-to-load functionality. Hyundai has also offered its latest car-connected technology and head-up display for convenience.
Importantly, the Korean automotive manufacturer has used eco-processed leather for seats and other interior components and bio-paint for door panels and steering wheels. There is also recycled fisher-net carpet to make the vehicle an even more sustainable and eco-friendly option for customers.
Powertrain
The Hyundai Ioniq 6 has two battery pack options: 53 kWh and 77 kWh. The more powerful battery pack powers both single and dual electric motor variants of the EV. The smaller 53kWh battery pack offers 386.2km of range on a single charge, while the 77.4kWh battery in the RWD model with a single electric motor provides 550 km of range, and in AWD with a single electric motor offers 508.5 km of range. The base variant with a single electric motor makes up 149 bhp of power output and 350 Nm of torque, while higher-spec RWD variants deliver 225 bhp of power output. The AWD variant with dual motor setup churns out 320 bhp and 605 Nm of torque.

The Hyundai Ioniq 6 expected price in India will likely range around Rs 55 lakh to Rs 65 lakh. Once it arrives in the Indian market, it will compete with BMW i4, Kia EV6, Volvo XC40, and Volvo C40 Recharge.
