Latest Update: Recently, Suzuki launched an updated GSX-8S bike in the European and Asian two-wheeler markets. However, the model did not arrive in India during its initial phase of rolling out in global markets, but now Suzuki is planning to launch this flagship sports bike in India soon.
Engine and transmission
As per the available information, the upcoming Suzuki GSX-8S motorcycle will likely get power from a 776cc, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled DOHC parallel-twin engine paired with a six-speed constant mesh transmission and multi-plate type wet clutch system. Interestingly, the six-speed transmission unit comprises gear ratios that offer smooth acceleration in normal mode or when using the Bi-directional Quick Shift system to shift without a clutch. Suzuki has equipped the motorcycle with the Suzuki Clutch Assist System to handle transmission output so that riders can feel the light pull and better friction point when riding the motorcycle.
Design
Suzuki GSX-8S is designed to match the demands of riders looking for agility, power, and bold styling in a motorcycle. The new GSX-8S has a modern streetfighter design with styling headlamps flanked by an edge headlamp cowl that houses sleek DRLs. The motorcycle gets 8S badging on the fuel tank, while the fuel tank design is kept minimal and sculpted with a split seat design for a stepping arrangement. An extended fender look is visible on the rear with a tail lamp and registration plate unit. It measures 2115 mm in length, 775 mm in width, 1105 mm in height, and 1465 mm in wheelbase. The sports bike has a ground clearance of 145 mm and a seat height of 810 mm. Overall, the bike’s design is modern and designed to offer a smooth and agile ride experience on city roads and highways.
Features
The premium sports motorcycle from Suzuki comes mated with inverted telescopic oil-damped front suspension with coil springs, while it gets a link-type single shock coil spring oil-damped suspension in the rear. NISSIN radial-mount 4-piston caliper twin-disc brakes with ABS in front, and NISSIN 1-piston caliper single-disc with ABS brakes on the rear to perform the braking duties. Suzuki GSX-8S rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with slightly wider rear tires than the front. The wheels are wrapped with 120/70ZR17M/C tubeless tires in front and 180/55ZR17M/C tubeless tires in the rear. Additionally, the motorcycle is equipped with the Suzuki Intelligent Ride System, which offers three ride modes, and Suzuki’s Cross Balancer Technology, allowing riders to easily navigate the challenging twisty backroads, city traffic, or the highway.
Expected Price & Rivals
Suzuki GSX-8S price in India is expected to range between Rs 10 lakh to Rs 11 lakh, ex-showroom. According to sources, Suzuki can launch its updated GSX-8S sports motorcycle in December 2025, positioning it as a strong rival to the Honda XL750 Transalp, Triumph Street Triple R, and Kawasaki Z900.
