The demand for BMW's long-wheelbase models experienced a notable surge of 187%. The brand has one of India's most expansive long-wheelbase lineups, including 3 Series, 5 Series, 7 Series, and the newly launched iX1.
BMW Group India has announced its Q1 2025 (from January to March) sales figures. The German automobile manufacturer reported a 7% growth in its India sales during the first quarter of this year. In Q1 2025, BMW delivered 3914 units of BMW and MINI while 1,373 motorcycles under the BMW Motorrad brand. Interestingly, the automaker registered an all-time high sales volume in the last three months. In contrast, EV sales gained momentum, ensuring a 200% increase.
The Germany-based luxury automobile manufacturer announced that it delivered 646 units of BMW and MINI cars, witnessing 206% YoY growth in volume. The brand also unveiled its latest BMW iX1 at Auto Expo 2025, which was held in January this year, with a showroom price of Rs 49,00,000. BMW received a positive response for its new electric SUV and booked over 1,500 orders.

The automaker also revealed the 3 Series LWB and 5 Series LWB, which were part of the best-selling models from the automaker during Q1 2025. Currently, the long-wheelbase models contribute 30% of BMW's domestic sales. Moreover, it continues to see consistent demand for premium models, with nearly one out of five models sold in Q1 being a topline model. Compared to the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, the BMW 7 Series dominated the segment as the ultra-luxury model, and the demand for the X7 increased in the market.
The SUV segment accounted for 55% of BMW's overall sales in India during the first quarter of this year. In Q1 2025, BMW sold 2079 units, witnessing an 11% YoY increase. The BMW X1 emerged as the best-selling model, contributing 30% to the brand's total SUV sales. In addition, MINI sold 150 units in Q1, where MINI Cooper S was the best-selling model from this luxury car brand.
BMW Motorrad India sold 1373 units in the first quarter of this year. The BMW G 310 RR was the brand's best-selling motorcycle under the affordable range, while the BMW R 900 GS and GSA topped the sales concerning full imports.
