Toyota Rumion's popularity rises in India, leading to a 30-week waiting period. Priced from Rs. 10.29 lakh, demand remains unprecedented.
In a surprising turn of events, Toyota India has disclosed an extended waiting period for its popular Rumion MPV in January 2024. The Ertiga-based model, priced from Rs. 10.29 lakh (ex-showroom), has witnessed a spike in demand, leading to an increase in the waiting period. Let's see the details of this development.
The Toyota Rumion, a versatile and stylish MPV, is available in three variants - S, G, and V, with prices starting at Rs. 10.29 lakh. This model, based on the Ertiga platform, boasts a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine generating 102bhp and 137Nm of torque. Customers can opt for either a five-speed manual or a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The Rumion comes in a vibrant palette of five colors, adding a touch of personalization for potential buyers.
As of January 2024, the waiting period for the Toyota Rumion has increased significantly, reaching up to 30 weeks. This marks a noteworthy rise from the previous month's waiting period, which stood at 24 weeks. The surge is primarily observed in bookings for the petrol versions, while the company temporarily halted bookings for the CNG variant in September 2023 due to an overwhelming demand.
The surge in the waiting period for the Toyota Rumion can be attributed to the unprecedented demand for this model. The Rumion has gathered attention for its blend of performance, style, and practicality, making it a popular choice among Indian consumers. Additionally, market dynamics and supply chain challenges may have contributed to the prolonged waiting period.
