With OBD2 compliance and E20 fuel readiness, this motorcycle comes in two variants, Drum and Disc, at competitive prices.
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has recently introduced the 2023 Shine 125 motorcycle in the Indian market. One notable update is that the motorcycle is now OBD2 compliant and ready to run on E20 fuel, resulting in a slight increase in prices. The Shine 125 is available in two variants: Drum and Disc, priced at ₹79,800 and ₹83,800 respectively (ex-showroom, Delhi).
In terms of warranty, Honda offers a standard three-year warranty on the Shine 125, which can be extended up to ten years with the optional seven-year extended warranty.
The motorcycle comes in five attractive colour options: Black, Geny Grey Metallic, Matte Axis Grey, Rebel Red Metallic, and Decent Blue Metallic.
Powering the 2023 Honda Shine 125 is a BSVI OBD2 compliant 125 cc PGM-FI engine equipped with Enhanced Smart Power (ESP) technology. It delivers 10.54 bhp at 7,500 rpm and 11 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. The engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox and features Friction Reduction technology, which includes a piston cooling jet to minimize temperature and friction.
Additionally, the use of an offset cylinder and rocker roller arm reduces frictional loss, resulting in improved power output and fuel efficiency. Other notable engine features include an external fuel pump for easy maintenance and an ACG starter motor for silent starts.
The Shine 125 employs a diamond-type frame and is equipped with telescopic forks at the front and hydraulic-type rear shock absorbers with 5-step adjustability. It rides on 18-inch alloy wheels fitted with 80/100 tubeless tires.
Braking duties are handled by either a 240 mm disc or a 130 mm drum at the front, along with a 130 mm drum at the rear. Additional features include a Combi-braking system, side-stand cut-off, halogen headlamp, engine kill switch, sealed chain, and an analogue speedometer with a fuel gauge.
With a ground clearance of 162 mm and a wheelbase of 1,285 mm, the Honda Shine 125 offers a balanced ride. The single-piece seat is spacious, measuring 651 mm, and the seat height is set at 791 mm, ensuring accessibility for most riders. Overall, the 2023 Honda Shine 125 presents itself as an updated and feature-packed offering in the 125 cc motorcycle segment.
