Honda CB1000 Hornet: Honda unveiled the premium CB1000 Hornet at the EICMA 2023. The new addition is meant to replace the CB1000R in the Honda Motorcycles India lineup. When it was first unveiled, there were no expectations that the CB1000 Hornet would make its Indian debut. However, things have changed now as Honda has recently filed a design patent for the CB1000 Hornet in India. So, the Honda CB1000 Hornet is expected to be a great replacement for the previous Honda CB1000R. Check out more details about the motorcycle below.
The Honda CB1000 Hornet comes equipped with a 999cc, liquid-cooled, inline 4-cylinder engine and this powerhouse makes a breathtaking 147 bhp of power and 100 Nm of torque. However, the manufacturer has retuned this engine for the CB1000 Hornet which comes coupled with a 6-speed gearbox and a slip and clutch assist.
The Honda CB1000 Hornet comes based on a new steel twin-spar platform and gets USD forks in the front and pro-link mono-shock at the backside. The Honda CB1000 Hornet comes equipped with twin 310 mm discs in the front and a single disc at the back. The motorcycle has 17-inch alloy wheels with 180/55 section rear tyres and 120/70 section front tyres. It is also worth noting that the bike comes with preload and rebound adjustability on both sides.
As for the features, the Honda CB1000 Hornet features a 5-inch TFT screen with Honda RoadSync smartphone connectivity which displays important ride-related information to the rider and enables connected features.
The bike gets throttle by wire, 3 ride modes, traction control and all LED lighting with dual LED projector headlights.
However, there is no information available regarding the price of the Honda CB1000 Hornet. But, as we know it is a litre class bike, and it will come with a massive price tag, which is expected to range between 14 lakh and 16 lakh in India.
The unveiling of the Honda CB1000 Hornet at EICMA 2023 and its subsequent patent filing in India signals a promising addition to Honda's lineup. With its impressive powertrain, advanced features like smartphone connectivity, and sleek design, it's poised to be a worthy successor to the CB1000R. While the expected price range may deter some, enthusiasts will likely find its performance and technology well worth the investment.
