The Hyundai Alcazar facelift, featuring ADAS and new design elements, is set to launch soon with enhanced safety and style.
Hyundai is gearing up to release the Alcazar facelift, aiming to boost its presence in the mid-size SUV market. Spotted frequently in recent months, the updated Alcazar could be launched as early as September. Let's dive into what’s new with this anticipated model.
The latest sighting at a fuel station reveals several changes, especially to the front grille and bumper. While the lighting setup remains largely unchanged, Hyundai is creating more distinction between the Alcazar and the Creta. A test mule spotted in a unique Maroon shade suggests new color options might be on the horizon, adding to the Alcazar’s already diverse palette.
The side profile of the Alcazar facelift features redesigned body cladding and new alloy wheels, giving it a sportier look. Subtle changes to the door panels are also noticeable, while the blacked-out pillars and conventional door handles remain. At the rear, updates include a new tailgate and revamped tail lights with a mix of vertical and horizontal lighting elements for a sharper profile.
One of the standout updates for the Alcazar facelift is the inclusion of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). This addition is essential to stay competitive with rivals like Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV700, and MG Hector, all of which are already equipped with ADAS.
The ADAS kit for the Alcazar facelift is expected to be similar to the one in the new Creta. This includes 19 Level 2 ADAS features such as forward collision warning and avoidance assist, blind spot collision warning and avoidance assist, lane keep assist, driver attention warning, lane following assist, leading vehicle departure alert, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist, surround view monitor, and blind spot view monitor.
Hyundai Alcazar is known for its reliable and dynamic performance, which is suited for various terrains and conditions. The facelift model will continue with the current engine options. The 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine delivers 160 PS and 253 Nm, with transmission options of a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT. The 1.5-litre diesel engine produces 116 PS and 250 Nm, available with 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmissions.
Inside, the Alcazar facelift will feature a refreshed dashboard and a dual-screen setup similar to the new Creta. Updates to the upholstery and interior themes are also expected. These enhancements will likely result in a higher price for the facelift model. The current Alcazar starts at Rs 16,77,500, with the top-spec variant priced at Rs 21,28,400 (ex-showroom).
In summary, the Hyundai Alcazar facelift brings notable updates in design, technology, and safety, ensuring it remains a strong contender in the mid-size SUV segment. Keep an eye out for its official launch and further details in the coming months.
