Inside the cabin, Hyundai has offered a three-row seating arrangement that can accommodate up to eight occupants; with the second-row captain seats option, the seating capacity can be reduced to seven.

Hyundai India aims to expand its premium range product lineup in the Indian automobile market by launching the Palisade SUV. According to sources, the Hyundai Palisade Hybrid SUV will launch in India in 2028. The Korean automobile manufacturer also plans to introduce the Hyundai Bayon compact SUV in India by 2030 to launch 26 products. While the Bayon will compete with the Suzuki Fronx, the Palisade will sit at the brand’s flagship model lineup, giving strong competition to the likes of the Toyota Fortuner.

Hyundai Palisade Hybrid: What We Know So Far?

The Palisade will debut with Hyundai’s next-generation hybrid powertrain setup, comprising either a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder turbo petrol or a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine. Considering the design dimensions of Hyundai’s flagship SUV, the model will deliver 334 horsepower and 460 Nm torque on a 2.5-liter unit. It will also offer 14.1 km/l of fuel mileage and 1015 km of combined maximum range.

In India, the model may launch with seven or eight-seater options and feature the larger engine unit with a regenerative braking system and vehicle-to-vehicle charging functionality. In select global markets, the hybrid SUV also comes mated with a 3.5-liter V6 petrol engine that makes up to 290 horsepower and 353 Nm of torque.

The Hyundai Palisade will also get a 6-speed automatic transmission and front wheel drive with optional all-wheel drive for maximum performance. The SUV is expected to have three driving modes, including Eco, Sport, and My Drive, and three terrain modes, including Mud, Snow, and Sand.

As the SUV will sit in the premium range of Hyundai’s India portfolio, it will get an electronically controlled ride comfort system called ‘e-Comfort Drive’, reducing vertical movement when the Palisade goes through the speed breakers and keeping the body motion in control. Hyundai’s e-Comfort Drive technology comprises three main components: the e-DTVC, e-EHA, and e-Handling.

The India-spec Palisade SUV will feature a similar design profile as seen in the latest-gen model, first unveiled in December 2024, featuring boxy Range Rover-esque proportions. It also has a vertically slatted arrangement for LED headlights and taillamps, and has a wide grille for a more prominent look. Additionally, the side profile of the SUV is enriched with 21-inch 15-spoke alloy wheels and silver trim for body cladding, D-pillars, and roof rails.

Inside the cabin, Hyundai has offered a three-row seating arrangement that can accommodate up to eight occupants; with the second-row captain seats option, the seating capacity can be reduced to seven. The driver dashboard houses a dual-screen setup, including a 12.3-inch infotainment and a 12.3-inch digital driver display. There is also a three-spoke steering wheel with a premium finish.

To make the vehicle function more accessible and user-friendly, the automaker offers physical controls for the media system and HVAC functions on the center console. It also provides sizable storage space, a wireless charging unit, a large armrest, and a fingerprint sensor to start the engine and enable valet mode.

An additional premium feature offered in the Hyundai Palisade includes wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 360-degree camera, a panoramic sunroof, a rear parking camera cleaning system, a 14-speaker Bose sound system, an ADAS suite, and a built-in dashcam.

Hyundai Palisade SUV Price in India

The new generation Hyundai Palisade SUV in the US comes at a starting price of $36,800, approximately Rs 31.60 lakh. If Hyundai aims to manufacture the model in India and export to other markets, it will likely get an ex-showroom price range of Rs 40 - Rs 50 lakh.
