Mahindra would supply over 4000 units of recently booked Scorpio Pickups as well as its Scorpio Classic, Scorpio-N, and Bolero Pickup-4WD. Indian Armed Forces will also receive over 7000 Mahindra Scorpio Classic SUVs.
Mahindra Automotive has recently revealed that the Indian Armed Force has ordered 1986 units of Scorpio Pickups worth Rs 2700 crore. Mahindra signed a contract with the Indian army to deliver a staggering unit of its flagship offering, Mahindra Scorpio pickups.
Recently, the Indian army ordered 2978 units of Force Gurkha to expand an operational fleet of SUVs.
Based on test mules of the Mahindra Scorpio N pickup, the vehicle gets a similar front fascia to the Scorpio N with LED headlamps paired with a projector setup, updated grille, and Twinspeak logo. Moreover, the pickup will boast C-shaped LED DRLs and a flat bonnet for an identical appearance. The reports state that the single-cab variants will retain the Scorpio N alloy wheels, while the dual-cab options offer steel wheels. The automaker offered a roll bar higher than the truck’s height for extra protection.
The Mahindra Scorpio N Pickup will likely feature Level 2 ADAS, trailer sway control, all-around airbags, 5G connectivity, driver-fatigue detection, and a 4Xplore 4WD system.
On the other hand, the Mahindra Scorpio N pickup interior will also be retained, featuring an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The steering wheel and AC controls will be the same as those in the Scorpio N SUV. The spied images hint that the upcoming Mahindra Scorpio N pickup will have a manual transmission with a handbrake and front center armrest. In the Scorpio N SUV, the automaker uses soft-touch material, but for pickup, different materials would be used to survive in harsh environments.
Mahindra is likely to equip its Scorpio N SUV with the same powertrain and transmission available in the Mahindra N SUV. A 2.0-liter turbo petrol engine and 2.2-liter diesel engine options could be paired with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque converter automatic unit.
