The Jeep Avenger, launched in 2023, underwent Euro NCAP safety tests, revealing a mix of strengths and areas for improvement across various safety categories.

Jeep Avenger's Euro NCAP Results Show Mixed Performance in Safety Tests

The Jeep Avenger, introduced in 2023 as the brand's smallest SUV for European markets, has recently undergone Euro NCAP safety tests. The results reveal a mixed performance across different safety categories. While the Avenger demonstrated strengths in adult and child occupant protection, there is room for improvement in vulnerable road user protection and safety assist features. The Avenger, available in mild hybrid and EV variants, has standard safety features but lacks some advanced systems.

The Jeep Avenger, a 5-door SUV,  has a kerb weight of 1552 kg. It falls into the Small MPV class. The rating applies to all Jeep Avenger EVs with VINs from ZACNJAC57RJK86260 onwards.

Jeep Avenger's Euro NCAP Results Show Mixed Performance in Safety Tests

Key findings from the Euro NCAP tests for the Jeep Avenger include:

1. Adult Occupant Safety: 79% (31.8 points)

  • Stable passenger compartment in frontal offset test
  • Good protection for critical body parts
  • Maximum points in side barrier and pole impact tests
  • Effective whiplash protection
  • Emergency eCall system
  • Lacks post-collision secondary impact prevention system

2. Child Occupant Safety: 70% (34.4 points)

  • Frontal offset tests showed sufficient protection for critical body parts of both 6 and 10-year-old child dummies
  • Side barrier test revealed poor chest protection for the 10-year-old dummy
  • Score reduction occurred due to the 6-year-old dummy's head contacting the 10-year-old dummy's arm
  • No child presence detection system

3. Vulnerable Road User Protection: 59% (37.5 points)

  • Good head protection for cyclists and pedestrians
  • Poor results for windscreen base and A-pillars
  • Good pelvis, femur, knee, and tibia protection
  • Marginal AEB performance for pedestrians and cyclists
  • Weak AEB system for motorcyclists
  • No protection against dooring incidents

4. Safety Assist: 53% (9.6 points)

  • Marginal to poor AEB performance for other vehicles
  • Adequate lane support system
  • Effective seatbelt reminder and driver fatigue detection
  • Speed assistance system identifies local speed limits
Jeep Avenger's Euro NCAP Results Show Mixed Performance in Safety Tests

The Avenger's safety package includes front and side airbags, belt pretensioners, AEB systems, and lane assist. However, it lacks knee airbags, center airbags, and child presence detection. The Jeep Avenger's performance in protecting vulnerable road users and its safety assist features indicate areas where improvements could be made.

While the Jeep Avenger demonstrates competent adult and child occupant protection, its results in vulnerable road user protection and safety assist categories suggest the possibility for enhancement in future models or updates.
