JK Tyre brings the thrill of motorsports to North-East India with its Indian Racing Festival tour, spanning five cities from April 12 to 22, 2025.
JK Tyre & Industries, India’s leading tyre manufacturer and a pioneer in nurturing motorsports culture, has flagged off an exhilarating new chapter in its motorsport journey with the launch of the “JK Tyre Powered Indian Racing Festival: A Carnival of Total Control”. Set to run from April 12 to April 22, this adrenaline-charged roadshow will sweep through five key northeastern cities: Kohima, Aizawl, Shillong, Guwahati, and Gangtok, bringing the roar of engines and the spirit of competition closer to the people.
The tour is not just about high-speed thrills; it reflects JK Tyre’s deep-rooted commitment to the region, both as a robust business market and a vibrant cultural landscape. With the North-East emerging as one of the brand’s most significant strongholds, especially in the SUV tyre segment, the festival reinforces JK Tyre’s emotional and aspirational ties with the people of these hilly terrains.
Speaking about the initiative, Mr. Srinivasu Allaphan, Director of Sales & Marketing, JK Tyre & Industries, remarked, “For JK Tyre, the North-East is not just a stronghold for our brand but a region where our passion for adventure and performance truly resonates with the people. With this festival, we are deepening that engagement, bringing adrenaline-driven experiences to the heart of the hills while also reinforcing our leadership in the market.” He also expressed gratitude towards the governments of the North-Eastern states for their continued support in nurturing a vibrant motorsport ecosystem.
The North-East region, known for its adventurous spirit and cultural vibrancy, has long been a natural partner in JK Tyre’s motorsport narrative. From earlier collaborations with iconic events like the Hornbill Festival in Nagaland and Orange Festival in Arunachal Pradesh to various community-driven initiatives, the company has played a pivotal role in planting the seeds of motorsport enthusiasm in the region.
The current tour, however, promises to be a spectacle unlike any other. Each stop on the itinerary is set to host a heady mix of high-performance showcases and fan-centric motorsport events. The calendar includes:
At the heart of the roadshows will be pulse-pounding showcases of Formula 4 and Wolf race cars, giving audiences a rare front-row view into the world of international open-wheel racing. These machines, paired with JK Tyre’s ultra-high-performance Levitas Ultra tyres, promise unmatched grip and control, perfectly mirroring the festival’s ethos of “Total Control”.
The excitement doesn’t end on four wheels. Visitors will be treated to stunning drifting displays in performance cars like BMWs and Lexuses, along with daring stunt shows on superbikes that defy physics and ignite imaginations. Adding youthful energy and future promise are Rotax Karting prodigies who will showcase their raw talent and razor-sharp skills, offering a glimpse into India’s next generation of racing superstars.
The festival is also a tribute to JK Tyre’s enduring legacy in Indian motorsports. For over four decades, the company has championed the growth of motorsport from the grassroots. Its flagship event, the JK Tyre National Racing Championship (JKNRC), now in its 28th year, remains a premier proving ground for emerging talent. It has produced legends like Narain Karthikeyan, India’s first Formula 1 driver and Padma Shri awardee, and Gaurav Gill, the country’s first motorsport athlete to win the prestigious Arjuna Award.
With the Indian Racing Festival now racing into the North-East, JK Tyre is not only offering thrilling action but also empowering the region's motorsport aspirations. The event marks a celebration of speed, control, and innovation, reinforcing the brand’s legacy and unwavering commitment to India's motorsport future.
