KTM India launches the 890 Adventure R at ₹15.80 lakh (ex-showroom). Explore its Dakar-inspired design, powerful 889 cc engine, and advanced features.
At ₹15.80 lakh (ex-showroom), KTM India has unveiled the much awaited 890 Adventure R, a middleweight adventure motorbike. This latest model, which takes influence from KTM's Dakar racing history, offers exceptional touring and off-road performance. Other middleweight adventure bikes such as the Suzuki V-Strom 800 DE, Aprilia Tuareg 660, Ducati DesertX, and Triumph Tiger 900 are competitors of the 890 Adventure R.
The Dakar-winning KTM 450 Rally serves as the model for the KTM 890 Adventure R. It has a more substantial structure but a comparable tough, functional look to the well-liked 390 Adventure. The engine serves as a stressed part to improve the structural integrity of the bike's chromoly steel frame, which forms the basis of its construction.
The 889 cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine at the centre of the KTM 890 Adventure R generates 103 horsepower and a maximum torque of 100 Nm. For smoother gear changes, it is coupled to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch. The suspension system consists of a monoshock at the back and 48 mm USD forks at the front that are sourced from WP. Both are adjustable and have 240 mm of travel for excellent off-road performance.
320 mm front and 260 mm rear disc brakes handle braking tasks and deliver dependable stopping power. The motorbike is better suited for experienced riders due to its elevated 880 mm seat height, and it can easily handle difficult terrain because of its 263 mm ground clearance. The bike is equipped with aluminium rims and dual-purpose tires on wire-spoke wheels that are 21 inches in front and 18 inches in back.
With limited supply, KTM intends to offer the 890 Adventure R through a few dealerships throughout India. Since the 890 Adventure R will be imported as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), it will cost more than KTM's sub-400 cc models, which are made domestically in collaboration with Bajaj Auto.
With its blend of state-of-the-art technology and high-performance characteristics, the KTM 890 Adventure R is poised to become a strong competitor in the middleweight class and enhance the Indian adventure motorcycle market.
