During the Japan NCAP safety test, the Fronx SUV underwent rigorous tests and scored 79.42 out of 85.8, earning a rank of A and 92%.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx compact SUV recently went through Japan NCAP crash tests, where it was given 163.75 out of 193.8 points. The Made-in-India Fronx earned an 84% score in its recent Japan NCAP safety test. The compact SUV was launched in October last year in Japan with Level 2 ADAS and an all-wheel drive system, which is not available in India-spec options. With this score, Japan NCAP gave the Fronx SUV a 4-star rating for occupant safety.
During the Japan NCAP safety test, the Fronx SUV underwent rigorous tests and scored 79.42 out of 85.8, earning a rank of A and 92%. The SUV also got a full score in the Damage Mitigation Brake for pedestrians at daytime, night, bicycle, and lane departure reduction. However, it gets fewer points in Damage Mitigation Brake for Intersection, securing only 3 out of 5 and 4 out of 5 in high-performance headlights and acceleration suspension when the pedal is pressed incorrectly.
Fronx was given a B rank for this part, scoring 76.33 out of 100 points. This Maruti Suzuki SUV only got a 5 out of 5 score in three sections: Full Wrap Frontal Collision (driver’s seat), Pedestrian protection (legs), and Side Impact (driver’s seat). The first two safety benchmarks have been added recently to the safety crash tests. However, the SUV secured 4 out of 5 in New Offset Frontal Collision, Rear Collision Neck Protection, and Seatbelt Warning. It got below-average points, 3 out of 5, in Pedestrian Protection (head).
Maruti Suzuki sells its Fronx SUV in India through its premium brand, Nexa Experience. It is available in three powertrain options, where the entry-level model is powered by a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 88.5 bhp and 113 Nm of peak torque with a 5-speed manual or automatic transmission option.
This Maruti SUV is also available in a 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine that churns out 98.6 bhp and 147.6 Nm of torque and a CNG fuel-powered model that delivers 76.4 bhp and 98.5 Nm of torque. While the entry-level petrol engine provides 21.79 km/l mileage on manual and 22.89 km/l on automatic transmission, the turbo petrol engine offers an average mileage of 21.5 km/l.
