MG Hector Black Storm Edition: MG Motors has finally launched the Black Storm Edition of its popular SUV, MG Hector. The Black Storm Edition is essentially an all-black variant of the 2024 MG Hector which comes based on the Sharp Pro trim of the SUV. The new edition will have five, six and seven-seater options. The new edition of the SUV will be the highest-priced variant of the SUV. Check out more details below.
The Black Storm Edition of Hector is the third special edition in the MG’s lineup. Earlier, the brand introduced the Blackstorm edition of the Astor and Gloster SUVs. Talking about the Hector upgrades, the SUV has received some major cosmetic upgrades in the exterior and interiors. Most of the updates are the same as the other Blackstorm models introduced by the automaker,
Being a Blackstorm Edition, the Hector Blackstorm gets an all-black theme with red highlights in both exteriors and interiors. The new edition comes with chrome brand logos and a dark chrome diamond mesh front grille. Additionally, the SUV comes with dark chrome inserts on the skid plates and a dark chrome finish in the cladding.
The new edition comes with headlights surrounded by black bezels. On the other hand, the connected tail lights at the back also get a smoked effect which looks really fantastic. Apart from this, the SUV features a Starry Black body colour same as other Blackstorm editions of the brand. Another new edition is the red accents on the ORVMs and red brake callipers on the 18-inch alloy wheels.
The interior of the new edition Hector also gets a black treatment. The new SUV features a black theme with a gun-metal touch. The centre console and dashboard of the SUV get a gunmetal touch. Additionally, the new Black variant comes with all-black leather upholstery, Blackstorm embossed on the front headrest and a leather-wrapped steering wheel among others.
As far as the functionality is concerned, the SUV features a big 14-inch infotainment system and a 7-inch digital driver display, powered seats for the driver, ventilated seats, and a panoramic sunroof. On the safety front, the SUV offers features such as ADAS tech, 6 airbags, 360-degree camera and auto turn indicators.
Talking about the engine specs, the new Blackstorm MG Hector comes equipped with a 1.5-litre turbo petrol diesel unit. The powerhouse comes mated to a 6-speed CVT gearbox and the diesel variant comes with a six-speed manual gearbox. The petrol variant is capable of generating a maximum power of 142 bhp and a peak torque of 250 Nm. On the other hand, the diesel mill churns out 170 bhp of power and 350 Nm torque.
The new Blackstorm edition of the MG Hector is priced between Rs. 21.24 lakh (ex-showroom) which goes up to Rs. 22.15 lakh (ex-showroom). Talking about the price difference, the SUV gets a Rs. 60000 premium over the existing top-end Sharp Pro trim.
The MG Hector Black Storm Edition emerges as a premium offering, boasting an all-black theme with striking red accents.
