MG Motor India is gearing up to unveil its latest innovation in the electric vehicle market—the MG M9, a premium luxury electric MPV. Scheduled to debut at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025 on January 17, this flagship MPV aims to redefine the premium MPV segment in India. Previously introduced as the Mifa 9 at the 2023 Auto Expo, the MG M9 has already generated significant buzz among auto enthusiasts.
MG Motor India built anticipation for the M9’s unveiling through a unique teaser campaign. The campaign, featuring an engaging mathematical puzzle, invited fans to crack the mystery behind the new MPV’s name. Shared on MG’s premium network, MG Select, the teaser successfully revealed the name “M9,” fueling excitement for the upcoming launch.
The MG M9 stands out with its striking design and imposing dimensions. A tall, upright nose, a full-width LED light bar, and chrome accents add to its luxury appeal. The vertical drop-down tail lamps further enhance its aesthetic. With dimensions of 5.2 meters in length, 2 meters in width, and 1.8 meters in height, the M9 surpasses rivals like the Kia Carnival and Toyota Vellfire in size, offering unmatched interior space for passengers.
Inside, the MG M9 combines modern technology with ultimate comfort. The MPV will offer both 7- and 8-seater configurations, catering to diverse passenger needs. Key features include:
These features ensure the M9 appeals to luxury-seekers and tech-savvy consumers alike.
The MG M9 is expected to feature a 90 kWh lithium-ion battery, delivering 245 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque. This powerful setup allows the MPV to achieve a WLTP-certified range of approximately 430 kilometers on a single charge. Such performance positions the M9 as a formidable competitor in the growing premium electric MPV market.
The M9 will be exclusively available through MG Select, MG Motor India's premium retail network. This channel, which also offers high-end models like the MG Cyberster EV, aims to deliver a tailored and elevated experience for luxury vehicle buyers. This strategic move underscores MG's commitment to meeting the evolving expectations of India’s premium automotive market.
After its debut at the Bharat Mobility Expo, the MG M9 is slated for a commercial launch in March 2025. While official pricing has not yet been disclosed, industry insiders estimate a starting price of around ₹65 lakh, making it a competitive contender in the luxury MPV segment.
This premium electric MPV ticks all the boxes for luxury, sustainability, and performance. If you’re in the market for an advanced electric vehicle, the MG M9 is undoubtedly a game-changer to watch out for in 2025.
With the launch of the MG M9, MG Motor India is set to make waves in the electric vehicle market. Combining cutting-edge technology, a spacious design, and premium features, the M9 promises to attract consumers seeking an eco-friendly yet luxurious mobility solution. Its unveiling at the Bharat Mobility Expo will solidify MG's position as a leader in sustainable and high-end automotive innovation.
