Royal Enfield reported total sales of 86,559 units in April 2025, posting a 5.73% YoY growth but facing a 14.32% MoM decline after a strong March performance.
India’s iconic retro-modern motorcycle manufacturer, Royal Enfield, has wrapped up April 2025 with a total dispatch of 86,559 units. While the company shows strong annual progress, April turned out to be a mixed bag, marked by a notable dip in sales compared to the previous month. Let’s dive into the numbers for a comprehensive analysis.
Metric | Units Sold | Change vs Apr ’24 | Change vs Mar ’25 |
April 2025 | 86,559 | +5.73% (+4,689 units) | -14.32% (-14,462 units) |
April 2024 | 81,870 | — | — |
March 2025 | 1,01,021 | — | — |
Despite achieving Year-on-Year (YoY) growth thanks to a robust product portfolio and increasing global presence, Month-on-Month (MoM) analysis indicates a substantial slowdown, with over 14,000 units fewer motorcycles dispatched than in March.
Royal Enfield's 350 cc:
Metric | Units Sold | Contribution to Total | YoY Change | MoM Change |
April 2025 | 74,282 | 85.82% | +1.94% (+1,416 units) | -14.92% (-13,030 units) |
April 2024 | 72,866 | — | — | — |
March 2025 | 87,312 | — | — | — |
Royal Enfield’s bread-and-butter models, including the Classic 350, Hunter 350, Bullet 350, Meteor 350, and the newly introduced Goan Classic 350, continue to dominate.
While the YoY growth suggests steady consumer demand, the MoM dip reflects market headwinds or a post-festive cooldown after March’s strong finish.
Royal Enfield's 350cc+ category performance:
Metric | Units Sold | Contribution to Total | YoY Change | MoM Change |
April 2025 | 12,277 | 14.18% | +36.35% (+3,273 units) | -10.45% (-1,432 units) |
April 2024 | 9,004 | — | — | — |
March 2025 | 13,709 | — | — | — |
This includes RE’s higher displacement models like the Scram 440, Himalayan 450, Guerrilla 450, Super Meteor 650, Shotgun 650, Bear 650, and Classic 650.
Market | Units Sold (Apr 2025) | Share of Total | YoY Growth | MoM Growth |
Domestic | 76,002 | 87.80% | +1.28% | -13.68% |
Exports | 10,577 | 12.20% | +54.52% | -18.61% |
The domestic market still accounts for the lion’s share of Royal Enfield’s sales, but the export surge, especially with new launches in countries like Nepal, showcases the brand’s expanding global appeal.
B Govindarajan, CEO of Royal Enfield, remarked, “After achieving the million-unit sales milestone in the past financial year, this year is also off to a flying start. In April, we introduced the 2025 Hunter 350 in new colourways at HunterHood, a celebration not just of the motorcycle’s agility and youthful spirit but of the vibrant community that’s at the heart of everything we do at Royal Enfield.”
He emphasised the brand’s community-first approach and its continuous international expansion, including the launch of the Classic 350 in Nepal, as a key growth driver in 2025.
With a strong portfolio and increasing international presence, Royal Enfield remains on track for long-term growth, but the coming months will be crucial to reclaim momentum and consolidate its gains from FY24-25.
