Get ready for the Skoda Enyaq unveiling at Skoda India's event on 27th Feb - anticipation is building!
Key Highlights:
Skoda Auto India is going to hold an event on 27th February 2024. The scheduled event has sparked speculation regarding the unveiling of the all new first electric car from Skoda. Not much has been unveiled regarding this upcoming event of 27th February, except for the invitation which reads, “ As we step into the “New ERA of Skoda”, we cordially invite you to join us for an important brand announcement.”
The brand is known for its competitiveness, innovation, technology, performance and No wonder, this event is going to be a crucial moment in the growth journey of Skoda in the Indian Market. With the sudden and unclear invitation the brand has left the media and automotive industry in suspense.
The key term to be noted in this invitation is “New Era of Skoda” , this signifies a possible new generation of Skoda in India, significantly the EV Era. With that said, we can assume the launch of Enyaq iV very soon.
For the all electric Enyaq, Skoda has chosen the CBU (Completely Built Unit) route, However, the Czech car maker might consider the CKD (Completely Knocked Down) if the demand is enough in India. This means the Enyaq will be imported directly in India and therefore it will incur heavy import duty.
The Enyaq iV is based on the VW Group’s born-electric MEB platform. The Skoda measures 1,877mm wide and 4,648mm long – though it is slightly smaller than the Skoda Kodiaq, however it is strictly a two-row SUV.
We can expect to get the premium Enyaq iV 80x, which will be equipped with a 77kWh battery and dual motors. The dual motors are expected to be on each axle, simulating All Wheel Drive (AWD) that makes 265hp.
Moreover it is expected that the battery pack will support 125kW DC fast charging, which can even go up to 513km (WLTP) on a single charge.
This upcoming Skoda Enyaq will be Skoda’s first Premium Electric AWD capable SUV. We expect Skoda to price it between Rs 45 Lakh to Rs 55 Lakh (ex-showroom). At this price range it will compete with rivals like Hyundai Ioniq 5, Volvo XC40 Recharge, BYD Atto 3, etc.
Skoda Auto India's upcoming event on February 27th, 2024, hints at the debut of the anticipated Skoda Enyaq iV, with its cutting-edge features and competitive pricing, promises to challenge rivals in the premium electric SUV segment.
