The year 2022 is coming to a close and this year, we saw multiple bike releases in India across a variety of sectors and segments. Some motorcycles were eagerly anticipated, while others delivered more than expected. Here are some sneak peeks at the greatest motorcycles of 2022.

4. Ducati DesertX

The Ducati DesertX is an off-road adventure-tourer motorbike that will compete in the Indian market with the Triumph Tiger 900 Rally and the Honda Africa Twin.

The motorbike borrows stylistic influences from a concept motorcycle shown in 2019. It has a twin-pod headlamp, a tall windscreen, a semi-fairing design, a 21-litre fuel tank, split-style seating, a side-slung exhaust, a bash plate, and wire-spoke wheels that are tubeless-tyre compatible. As previously said, this Ducati was built for off-roading, therefore it sports 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels wrapped in Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres. Ducati will also sell a variety of DesertX accessories.

Mechanical features include a 937cc, L-Twin, liquid-cooled engine shared with the Ducati Monster and Multistrada V2. This motor, which is linked to a six-speed gearbox, is calibrated to generate a maximum output of 110bhp at 9,250rpm and a peak torque of 92Nm at 6,500rpm.

To handle the suspension duties, KYB-sourced 46mm fully-adjustable front forks with 230mm travel and KYB fully-adjustable rear mono-shock with 220mm travel are used. The anchoring system also comprises twin 320mm discs with Brembo M50 monobloc radial callipers up front and a single 265mm rotor with a Brembo double-piston floating calliper up rear.

3. KTM RC 390

Owned by Bajaj Auto, earlier this year, KTM introduced the 2022 KTM RC 390 in India. The 2022 KTM RC 390 is priced at Rs.3.14 lakh (ex-showroom). The new sports bike features a completely redesigned headlight. Daytime running lights are included with the LED headlight.

The new colour configurable Bluetooth-enabled TFT instrument cluster with ambient lighting on the 2022 KTM RC 390. Factory Racing Blue and Electric Orange will be available for the 2022KTM RC 390.

This bike has a 373cc liquid-cooled, four-stroke petrol engine that produces 42.9 horsepower at 9,000 rpm and 37 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. It has a six-speed transmission with a slipper clutch and a quickshifter. The gasoline tank on the sports bike is 13.7 litres.

2. TVS Ronin 225

The TVS Zeppelin R concept cruiser was on display at the 2018 Auto Expo. It drew a lot of attention because of its sleek appearance and powerful engine. 9-spoke alloy wheels, matt black exhaust, asymmetric speedometer, sleek integrated tail lamp, LED headlamp, diamond edge engine fins, block tread tyres, gold tone USD forks, and rain & urban ABS mode are among the features.

The TVS Ronin has a neo-classic body design that is a hybrid of a classical low-slung cruiser and a tough scrambler. It has a spherical retro-style headlight with a circular LED daytime running light.

1. Royal Enfield Hunter 350

The Royal Enfield Hunter 350 was one of the year's most anticipated motorcycles. Because of its small weight and low price, it became an instant hit in India shortly after its release. This is the most appealing and user-friendly Royal Enfield motorcycle. The Royal Enfield Hunter 350 is powered by a 349 cc single cylinder four stroke petrol engine from the J-series. It has a top power of 20.2 bhp and a peak torque of 27 Nm. The bike is supposed to have a mileage of 36.2 kmpl and a five-speed transmission.

The bike has a gasoline tank size of 13L, a seat height of 800mm, a wheelbase of 1370mm, and a ground clearance of 150.5mm. The new Royal Enfield cruiser sports a 300mm disc with a twin-piston floating caliper up front and a 270mm disc with a piston floating caliper up back. The bike has Dual Channel ABS as a safety feature.

In terms of suspension, the front features telescopic forks with a travel of 130mm, while the rear has a Twin tube Emulsion shock absorber with a six-step adjustable preload and a travel of 102mm. The Hunter 350 has 17-inch wheels with tubeless tyres on the front and 140/70 on the back.
