After all the recently posted teasers and spotted testings, Triumph has finally unveiled its Daytona 660 in India.

Following the Trident 660 and the Tiger Sport 660, the Triumph Daytona 660 will be the third vehicle built on the 660cc platform. Daytona 660 is believed to revive the popularity of the Daytona name which was forgotten due to the discontinuation of Daytona 675 in 2017.

Design and Style

Triumph added new throttle bodies, a new cylinder head with new intake ports, longer and more lift camshafts, new pistons with skirt-mounted anti-friction coatings, a new exhaust system, a new crankshaft, a new ram air intake, and an airbox to achieve this performance gain. To fully utilize all that extra power, the six-speed gearbox's internal gear ratios have also been tightened.

Performance and Engine Specifications

Daytona 660's liquid-cooled, fuel-injected 660cc inline three-cylinder engine is said to generate 51 lbs.-ft. of torque at 8,250 rpm and 94 horsepower at 11,250 rpm, respectively, which is roughly 17% and 9% more than a Trident 660. Better yet, the Daytona 660 parallels the Trident 660's power curve through the middle of its rev range before reaching its maximum output and ultimately peaking at 12,650 rpm. The maximum rev of the Trident 660 is 10,500 rpm.

Technological Innovations

The Continental ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), three riding modes (Sport, Road, and Rain), adjustable and defeatable Traction Control integrated into the various riding modes, an Emergency Deceleration Warning system, Ride-by-Wire (RbW) throttle control, and smartphone connectivity via the TFT (Thin-Film Transistor) colour dashboard are just a few of the electronic features on the Daytona 660. Optionally, an electronic quick shifter is offered.
