Yamaha unveils the 2024 Jog 125cc scooter in Japan at 264k Yen (Rs 1.46 lakh), offering enhanced features, two new colors, practical storage, and efficient performance for urban commuters.
Yamaha, the renowned name in the world of two-wheelers, has once again raised the bar for affordable commuting with the launch of its latest offering, the 2024 Yamaha Jog 125cc scooter. Set to hit the roads of Japan on March 19th, this updated model brings forth a refreshed package, boasting two new color options and enhanced features, catering to the needs of urban commuters. While enthusiasts eagerly await its arrival in the Indian market, let’s delve into what this new iteration has to offer.
Priced at 264k Yen (approximately Rs 1.46 Lakh), the 2024 Yamaha Jog 125cc comes with a modest increase of 9,000 yen (about Rs 5,000) compared to its predecessor. Despite the slight uptick in price, the new model promises to deliver even greater value for money with its upgraded features and aesthetics.
Designed to cater to the daily commuting needs, the Yamaha Jog 125cc boasts a spacious 21.3-liter under-seat storage, capable of accommodating a full-size helmet alongside other essentials. Additional conveniences include a dedicated space for a small bottle, a robust hook optimizing floorboard area usage, and an optional USB charger for on-the-go phone charging.
With a seat height of 735 mm, the Jog 125cc ensures optimal control and handling, particularly appealing to shorter riders. Its compact profile, measuring 1,740 mm in length, 675 mm in width, and 1,090 mm in height, facilitates easy maneuverability through bustling city streets and hassle-free parking in cramped spaces. The scooter’s lightweight build, weighing just 95 kg, further enhances its agility and user-friendliness.
While retaining its iconic design elements, including a rectangular headlamp, vertically positioned DRLs, and sporty rear-view mirrors, the 2024 Jog 125cc introduces two new captivating color options – Vivid Red Metallic 5 and Dull Blue Solid B. These additions complement the existing Black Metallic X and White Metallic 1 variants, offering riders a total of four vibrant choices to suit their preferences.
Underneath its sleek exterior lies a robust 124cc, air-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, single-cylinder engine, generating 8.3 PS of maximum power and 9.8 Nm of peak torque. Paired with a V-belt type continuously variable speed transmission, the Jog 125cc ensures smooth acceleration and efficiency, boasting an impressive mileage of 51.9 km/l (as per WMTC standards). Equipped with 10-inch wheels, drum brakes on both ends, and telescopic suspension, this scooter promises a balanced and comfortable ride, ideal for navigating urban terrains.
With its affordability, practicality, and enhanced features, the 2024 Yamaha Jog 125cc emerges as a compelling choice for urban commuters seeking reliability and style without breaking the bank. As it sets out to conquer the streets of Japan, anticipation brews for its eventual arrival in other markets, promising an elevated commuting experience for riders worldwide.
