The new S-Class has a large bonnet and is available with both gasoline and diesel engines. While the 3.0-liter diesel engine produces 326 bhp/700 nm of maximum torque, the 3.0-liter gasoline engine produces 362 bhp/500 nm. A nine-speed automatic transmission transfers power to all four wheels.
Exterior Design
The new S-Class maintains its original traditional saloon attitude despite using the new design language. The huge front grille with three horizontal and one vertical slats flows down from the long, stretched-out hood. The S-Class has a sleek yet sassy appearance thanks to its relatively small but sharper LED headlights with integrated eyebrow-shaped DRLs. With just one crease line running across the body below the window line, the side profile of the S-Class has been softened. The flush-fitted door handles, wheels that range in size from 18 to 21 inches, and touch of chrome on the side sills all offer a bit of glitz.
When you turn your focus to the back, the split LED taillamps that are now there are the first thing that catches your eye. The rear bumper also receives additional chrome ornamentation, giving the car a wider, more upscale appearance.
Interior & Features
The new cabin is also becoming more and more fascinating. Five screens that are powered by the brand's most recent MBUX system welcome the occupants. The front row has a floating instrument cluster for the driver and a gigantic 12.8-inch touchscreen entertainment system placed at an inclined position on the centre console, while three of them are set aside to pamper the chauffeur-driven back passengers.
