BYD has introduced the new 2025 Seal electric sedan, starting at 175,800 yuan (approximately Rs 20 lakh). The 2025 BYD Seal comes with a range of high-tech upgrades, offering better performance and enhanced safety. It is available in both RWD (Rear-Wheel Drive) and AWD (All-Wheel Drive) variants.
The 2025 BYD Seal comes in several variants, each offering different features:
Base Model: Priced at 175,800 yuan (approx. Rs 20 lakh).
650 Long Range Edition: Priced at 189,800 yuan (approx. Rs 21.6 lakh).
650 Intelligent Driving Edition: Priced at 216,800 yuan (approx. Rs 24.7 lakh).
600 AWD Drive (Top Variant): Priced at 239,800 yuan (approx. Rs 27.31 lakh).
In India, the BYD Seal EV is on offer as a CBU with prices ranging from Rs 41 lakh to Rs 53 lakh. The new BYD Seal EV 2025 model is expected to be launched in India in the coming months.
One of the key upgrades in the 2025 BYD Seal is the inclusion of a LiDAR sensor mounted on the roof. LiDAR, which stands for Light Detection and Ranging, helps enhance the car's autonomous driving capabilities by creating a detailed 3D map of the surroundings. This upgrade allows the BYD Seal to integrate the L2+ level DiPilot 300 system, which includes features like high-speed and urban Navigation on Autopilot (NOA) and Automated Valet Parking (AVP).
The 2025 BYD Seal is built on the e-Platform 3.0 Evo, the same platform used in the Sea Lion 07. The dimensions of the new Seal remain the same as the outgoing model, with a length of 4,800 mm, a width of 1,875 mm, and a height of 1,460 mm. It has a wheelbase of 2,920 mm, giving it a strong road presence.
This platform is known for its advanced technology, including a world-first 12-in-1 electric drive system, intelligent fast charging, and high-efficiency thermal management. It also features the CTB vehicle safety architecture and intelligent motion control technology.
The 2025 BYD Seal boasts several new features to enhance driving comfort and safety:
Disus-C System: An upgraded chassis with BYD’s Disus-C system improves suspension performance, ensuring better comfort, stability, and handling.
Interior Features: The car's interiors have been updated with a unique four-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, a large rotating touchscreen, a minimalist center console, wireless charging pads, and hidden AC vents. All variants also include a W-HUD head-up display and 13 airbags as standard.
The 2025 BYD Seal is offered with two battery options:
61.44 kWh Battery: Provides a range of 510 km.
80.64 kWh Battery: Offers a range of 650 km.
The base variant is powered by a 228 hp rear motor, while the mid variants deliver 308 hp. The top AWD variant delivers an impressive 523 hp, allowing the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds. The sedan also supports 800V technology for superfast charging, with the ability to charge from 10% to 80% in just 25 minutes.
With its combination of advanced technology, safety features, and competitive pricing, the 2025 BYD Seal electric sedan is set to make a strong impact in the market.
