Ather Energy has shown tremendous growth from the last year 2022 in March 2023.
Ather Energy, an EV manufacturer with headquarters in Bangalore, kept the third spot in March 2023. In comparison to February 2023, when it had sold just over 10,000 copies, Ather's month-to-month sales had increased significantly to 12,076 units.
To increase its store presence and fast-charging network across the nation, Ather is continuously working.The Indian automobile sector had a successful FY 2022–23 as the majority of OEMs saw significant development. Most ICE-based and EV manufacturers have seen strong sales in the two-wheeler market. Even as global geopolitical and economic worries linger, the Indian car industry is expanding.
Ather is one of the OEMs in the electric two-wheeler market that experienced significant growth in the fiscal year (2022–2023). By the fiscal year 2023–2024, Ather can easily surpass the 1 lakh annual sales milestone if it can sustain its current sales momentum. Currently, OEMs with yearly sales of over lakh units include Ola Electric and Hero Electric.
| Ather Electric | Sales | YoY Growth | Difference ||----------------|--------------|------------|---------------------|| March 2023 | 11,754 units | 353.65% | (March 22-23) 9,163 || March 2022 | 2,591 units | | |
Ather sold 11,754 units in total in March. When compared to the 2,591 items sold during the same period last year, there has been a YoY gain of 353.65%. March 2023 will see negative Ather MoM growth of -3.24% as there were 12,147 units sold in February 2023.
Ather sales in the first quarter of 2023 were 36k units, a 383% YoY increase from the first quarter of 2022. Sales have increased by 46% QoQ compared to Q4 2022 when they were at 24.6k units. In FY'23, there were 82,146 units sold in total.
If the chip scarcity had not negatively impacted operations in the first half of FY'23, sales may have been higher, claims Ravneet Singh Phokela, Chief Business Officer at Ather Energy. In FY'24, Ather anticipates that its sales momentum will remain strong.
To encourage faster adoption of its electric scooters, Ather has been consistently adding new retail outlets across the country. In FY’23, the company increased its retail outlets by 4X, from 30 to 116 stores.Ather has also been expanding its network of fast-charging stations. The pace at which Ather is adding new charging stations is truly commendable, as more than 900 charging points have been added in FY23. Ather now has a total of 1224 fast charging stations, making it the largest two-wheeler fast charging network in the country.
In order to place charging stations in key locations, Ather has also been working with outside parties. They would be helpful for commuters who use both electric two-wheelers and other forms of transportation, such as the bus, the metro, etc. Ather and Southern Railways have collaborated to build recharge facilities at ten MRTS and suburban stations in Chennai.
Ather Price
One of the nation's best-equipped electric scooters is the Ather 450X. In particular, when compared to other electric scooters, Ather scooters have an unblemished safety record. Ather 450X's consumer base is nevertheless constrained by its expensive price.
Bengaluru's entry-level Ather 450X cost Rs. 1,58,462. (Including FAME II subsidy). Many prospective purchasers looking for an electric scooter for daily commuting may not find this to be affordable, but because of Ather's amazing technology people are considering its Electric Scooter.
Ola Electric, which has released more economical versions of its S1 electric scooter, is likely to serve as a source of inspiration for Ather (Ola sales in March 2023 were 27k). The use of a battery pack with a lesser capacity is principally responsible for affordability.
Affordable cost, despite the narrower choice, is a strong selling point, particularly for those on a tight budget. Later this year, a new, reasonably priced Ather introduction is anticipated.
