The Audi RS3 facelift is here with refreshed exterior, new interior features, and fine-tuned performance. Read on to see what’s new and what remains unchanged.
Audi has introduced a mid-life facelift for its RS3 model, available in both hatchback and sedan variants. This refreshed version comes with updated exterior and interior styling, along with improvements to its brake torque vectoring system. Despite these enhancements, the RS3 retains its signature 2.5-litre, 5-cylinder turbo-petrol engine.
The exterior of the RS3 facelift features several subtle yet impactful changes. At the front, the car now sports a new splitter and redesigned side air intakes. The front and rear LED signatures have been updated with a distinctive chequered pattern, giving the car a modern look. Additionally, the RS3 now comes with slimmer headlights and a blacked-out Audi badge on the grille, enhancing its aggressive stance.
Inside, the cabin has been refreshed with new RS bucket seats upholstered in Nappa leather, providing both comfort and style. The steering wheel has been updated to a flat-top, flat-bottom design, now equipped with haptic buttons replacing traditional physical controls. Other interior updates include redesigned air vents and a more compact gear selector.
Under the hood, the RS3 facelift continues to be powered by the same 2.5-litre, 5-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, delivering 400hp and 500Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system. Despite no changes in power output, the RS3 remains a formidable performer, accelerating from 0-100kph in just 3.8 seconds and reaching a top speed of 290kph.
One of the key improvements in the RS3 facelift is its enhanced handling, particularly around corners. Audi has fine-tuned the brake torque vectoring system, making the car more agile and responsive. The new RS3 also features a torque splitter, which optimizes power distribution between the rear wheels, allowing for better grip and stability. These upgrades have made the RS3 the fastest car in its class around the Nürburgring, beating its competitors by a significant margin.
The Audi RS3 facelift is priced starting at €66,000 (Rs 61.24 lakh) for the Sportback model and €68,000 (about Rs 63.10 lakh) for the sedan in Germany. However, like its predecessor, the facelifted RS3 is not expected to be launched in India. Audi is currently accepting bookings for the Q8 facelift, which is scheduled to be launched later this week.
While the Audi RS3 facelift may not bring a power boost, it certainly enhances the driving experience with its improved suspension and handling. The design tweaks, both inside and out, keep the RS3 looking fresh and competitive in the high-performance compact car segment. Enthusiasts can look forward to ordering this updated model starting in September.
