Most automakers stated on Saturday that domestic sales increased in September, including Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Eicher Motors, M&M, and Hero MotoCorp. The increase in sales compared to the same month a year ago occurs as India prepares for the holiday season, which traditionally boosts the auto industry as consumers plan their purchases.

In September, Maruti Suzuki India sold 1,76,306 vehicles overall, including 1,50,885 vehicles for the domestic market. According to the company's press release, the lack of electronic parts had a negligible effect on manufacturing cars, primarily domestic models.

Compared to 5.3 lakh sales in September 2021, Hero MotoCorp sold a total of 5.19 lakh vehicles last month. On a yearly basis, its domestic sales did, however, increase by 0.4 percent.

In September 2022, Tata Motors recorded an increase in overall sales of 42.1% to 2.43 lakh. 80,633 more cars were sold domestically, a 44 percent increase. Compared to the same period last year, domestic commercial vehicle sales increased to 32,979 units from 30,258 units.

3.79 lakh automobiles were sold overall, according to TVS Motor, in September. The automaker's bike sales increased by around 2 percent.
In September, Hyundai Motor India's wholesale sales jumped by 38% to 63,201 automobiles. 49,700 vehicles were sold in the domestic market, a 50% increase from the previous year. From 12,704 automobiles in September 2021, exports increased to 13,501 vehicles in September 2022.According to Tarun Garg, director of sales, marketing, and service at Hyundai Motor India, Creta has increased its market share in the mid-SUV segment by 36%.
Escorts Kubota reported an increase in sales of 12.232 tractors, or 38.7%, in the previous month. 11,384 tractors were sold domestically, a 42.7 percent increase.
The retail sales of MG Motor India reached 3,808 automobiles last month, up 17%.
According to the firm, "The waiting period continues to be 3-6 months across models impacted by supply chain limitations." It claimed that popular models including the Gloster, ZS EV, Hector, and Astor are still selling well.However, the business continued, "the problem with semiconductor availability persists, limiting MG to deliver just the Astor MT (manual transmission) model for the time being. MG Motor also stated that it anticipates starting Astor automatic variant deliveries soon.
Sales at Skoda Auto India climbed by 17% to 3,543 automobiles.
"The Kushaq and Slavia models have a strong market presence and provide the sales traction. The Octavia and Superb, two of our D-Segment models, are also market leaders in their respective categories", said Petr Solc, brand director for Skoda Auto India.According to him, the company's current priorities are to increase client touch points nationwide and further improve customer satisfaction.
In September, Toyota Kirloskar Motor reported a 66 percent increase in wholesales to 15,378 automobiles.
Atul Sood, Associate Vice President-Sales and Strategic Marketing, TKM. said, "Our segment-leading models like the Fortuner, Legender, and the Innova Crysta petrol continue to garner customer orders whilst models like Glanza continue to clock promising wholesales as well as customers orders."
