BMW is planning on the new Electric bike, it may be an electric version of the famous bike BMW G310R.
BMW Motorrad offers a range of premium bikes in India, including adventure, touring, and sports models. They provide excellent performance, technology, and style, making them a top choice for motorcycle enthusiasts.
The BMW G310R is a dynamic, lightweight, and agile naked bike that boasts a 313cc engine, delivering impressive power and torque. It's ideal for both urban and sporty riding, offering excellent handling and manoeuvrability.
Since its launch, the BMW G310R has been a popular choice among riders globally, including in India. In 2021, BMW Motorrad reported a significant increase in sales, with the G310R being a top seller. Its performance, design, and affordability make it an attractive option for those looking for a quality motorcycle.
A revolutionary electric motorcycle has been patented by BMW Motorrad. According to appearances, this would be the Bavarian brand's first production electric motorbike, and it might be based on the G310R.
The new BMW electric bike's distinctive design is revealed through the patent applications. As opposed to the majority of e-motorcycles, BMW has packaged the powertrain extremely differently. Where the radiator of an ICE bike would typically be located, the battery pack has been positioned vertically. The battery pack should stay cool as a result of this.
Even the placement of the motor is distinctive according to the German bike maker. It is longitudinally positioned and sits up high under the seat. The front sprocket, which also serves as a reduction gearbox to increase torque and gear down the motor's rotational speed, is powered by this motor after being relayed to it by a bevel gear. The chain drive used on the ICE equivalent is replaced with a final drive on the BMW electric motorcycle.
The electronic control module has also been positioned below the motor. According to the patent drawings, there is a lot of storage space where the "fuel tank" normally is. BMW Motorrad should store the charger here, we hope. It is anticipated that the battery pack and motor from the CE-04 electric scooter will be used in the BMW e-motorcycle. In comparison, the G 310 R powered by gasoline produces 34PS and 28Nm, while this vehicle produces 42.58PS and 61.9Nm.
In terms of performance, the new Electric variant of the bike is offering much more power which will attract customers with passion.
There is a good chance that it will. Sudarshan Venu, the CEO of TVS, disclosed last year that a sub-15kW electric motorcycle was being developed with a German partner. It implies that TVS might produce the BMW electric bike, as well as the G 310 R and the G 310 GS, locally. Additionally, it allows for the development of an electric TVS Apache RR 310. That would be fascinating, no doubt.
Do you like the new Electric version with incredible power? Or do you prefer the regular variant which comes in petrol?
