Priced at Rs 1.62 crores (ex-showroom), the 2021 BMW 3H Competition Facelift is Rs 7 lakhs more expensive than its outgoing version.
● BMW has launched the 2021 M5 Competition Facelift model with additional features like a revised suspension, design tweaks, and an updated info system.● While launching the Facelift BMW M5 Competition, BMW has retained the 625hp engine from the outgoing model.● With the updated specs, the BMW M5 does not have any competition in India presently.
As is the regular practice, BMW has updated specific components in the M5 Competition model and launched the facelifted version at Rs 1.62 crores, about Rs 7 lakhs more than the outgoing variant.
BMW M5 Competition Facelift – The Changes
The exteriors have been revamped to match the recent BMW 5-Series Facelift. The BMW M5 now gets a revised grille, new tail lamps, and innovative Laser-light headlamps with L-shaped DRLs.
The rear exteriors feature a new apron and diffuser design with revamped exhaust tips and revised bumpers.Buyers can choose between three 20-inch alloy wheels.
The facelift model comes equipped with a new infotainment system comprising a 12.3-inches touchscreen with the state-of-the-art iDrive system. In addition, it supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
The chassis gets a few tweaks with the inclusion of new shock absorbers.
BMW M5 Competition Facelift – The Retained Features
BMW has retained the 4.4L twin-turbo V8 engine from the outgoing model. This engine forges a maximum power of 625hp and 750Nm torque. It pairs with an 8-speed automatic transmission gearbox. Like the outgoing BMW M5 Competition, the facelifted model boasts of accelerating from 0-100 kmph in 3.3 seconds.
Other retained features include interior design like gesture control and voice assistant compatibility, powered front sports seats, wireless phone recharging features, 4-zone climate control, hands-free parking, and the powerful 16-speaker Harman Kardon Surround system.
The optional features include carbon-ceramic brakes, ventilated front seats, soft-close doors, sunroof, front seats with massaging features, 360-degree camera, and rear-seat entertainment facilities.
BMW M5 Competition Facelift – Above all competition
As of date, the updated BMW M5 Competition does not have any competition. The closest competitor is the Audi RS7. The ideal competitor, Mercedes AMG E63, is not available in India. One expects this sedan to relaunch in India very soon.
