On October 26, the new BMW X4 M40i launched in India with an ex-showroom starting price of Rs 96.20 lakh. BMW M Performance models are rare and also come with a very high price tag. The luxury automaker BMW officially launched its new BMW X4 40i, which has a refreshed exterior look and upgraded interior compared to previous models. CarBike360 shares the specification details of the new BMW M40i.
BMW X4 M40i has retained its sportier look with a sloped couple roofline and wide stance. In the front profile, it gets a black-colored active kidney grille with an M logo badge. A sleek LED headlight with an M shadow dark unit has also been offered in this new model. The automaker has offered 20-inch jet-black M light-alloy wheels to enhance its side look. There is 245/45 R20 tyre in front and 275/40 R20 tyre in rear side.

Some other features include a 12.3-inch digital driver display, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. The carmaker has also provided:- 6-color ambient lighting,- A panoramic sunroof,- Six airbags,- A rear parking camera,- Dynamic stability control,- Cornering brake control,- And a 3-point seatbelt for all seats.
The BMW X4 M40i gets a 3-liter turbo petrol engine that churns 360 PS power and 500 Nm of peak torque. The engine is configured with a 48V mild hybrid system and comes mated with 8-speed automatic transmission. The new BMW X4 sprints 0-100 kmph in 4.9 seconds.
To make the drive more convenient and enjoyable, an M Sport differential distributes the power to all four wheels, ensuring refined traction and control when cornering. There is also M adaptive suspension with a function to control shock absorbers with an electromagnetically controlled unit. BMW also states that the SUV comes with a variable sport steering wheel to improve handling.
In India, the BMW X4 M40i has no direct competitor; instead, it has been launched as a sportier version of the BMW X3 M40i. The model can rival the Porsche Macan and Audi SQ5, and also electric SUV coupes like the Volvo C40 Recharge and the Kia EV6.
