Is Citroen C3 safer than Tata Punch, Renault Kiger and its other competitors? Check out the NCAP ratings and comparison.

Citroen C3 Safety Ratings: Global NCAP, Euro NCAP and Latin NCAP

The C3 was introduced by Citroen India on July 20, 2022, with prices starting at Rs 5.71 lakh and going up to Rs 8.06 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.

Although this car has two engine options and more than 70 accessories available to customers, its global NCAP safety rating is not there but we have compared its Euro NCAP rating to its competitors.

The Nissan Magnite, Tata Punch, Maruti Ignis, and Renault Kiger are competitors of the excellent Citroen C3.

So now we will check Citroen C3's safety features compared to its competitors

4 stars in the International model

The C3 received four stars overall from Euro NCAP for its performance in crash tests. The hatchback was 88% and 83% safer for adults and kids, respectively. However because it is a brand-new design for India, this model must pass the Bharat NCAP or Global NCAP safety rating.

Citroen C3 Latin Ncap Rating

Citroen C3 received a zero-star safety rating from Latin NCAP. The car was tested in Brazil and was found to have an unstable structure, weak protection in frontal impact, lack of side head protection, and lack of seat belt reminders. The C3 offers standard 2 airbags and Electronic Stability Control (ESC).

The car scored 30.52% in Adult Occupant, 12.10% in Child Occupant, 49.74% in Pedestrian Protection and Vulnerable Road Users and 34.88% in Safety Assist.

Latin NCAP has urged Citroen to improve the safety of the C3 and other models in its range.

Rivals of Citroen C3

Given that both of these items are new on the Indian market, the C3 primarily competes with the Tata Punch. The Punch is the safest vehicle in its class because of its 5-star Global NCAP crash test rating.

While the Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger have received 4 stars, its other opponent, the Maruti Ignis, received only 3 stars.

Tata Punch Global Ncap Rating

Adult occupant protection

The head and neck support provided to the driver and passenger was excellent. The driver's and passenger's chests were well-guarded. The driver's and passenger's knees showed good protection. The tibias of the driver and passenger both demonstrated acceptable and good protection.

The bodyshell was adjudged to be sturdy and able to handle additional loads. The Footwell region received a steady rating. The vehicle provides both drivers and passengers with standard Seat Belt Reminders (SBR).

The vehicle passed the UN95 side impact test, has front-seat SBR that meets standards, and comes with standard ABS (4 channels). The five-star rating for adult occupant protection is justified by everything mentioned above.

Child Occupant Protection

Rearward-facing child seats for the 3-year-old and the 1.5-year-old were mounted using ISOFIX connectors and a support leg.

Both of the dummies' heads and chests received good protection from the CRS, which was able to stop them from moving too far forward during the impact. Permanent CRS branding.

The suggested CRS did not reveal any incompatibilities. In the centre back seat, the car provides a lap belt. The automobile has typical ISOFIX anchorages. The four-star grade for kid occupant protection is explained by everything mentioned above.

Renault Kiger Global Ncap Rating

Adult Occupant

The head and neck support provided to the driver and passenger was excellent. The passenger's chest was adequately protected, whereas the driver's protection was only fair.

Knee protection for the driver and the left passenger was only fair because they could collide with potentially harmful objects behind the dashboard that were held up by the Tranfascia tube.

The right knee of the passenger appeared to be well-protected. The passenger's left tibia displayed excellent protection, while the driver's and the passenger's right tibia displayed appropriate protection.

The bodyshell was deemed unstable and unable to sustain additional loads. The footwell region received a steady rating.

For both drivers and passengers, the automobile offers standard SBR. The four stars for adult occupant protection are explained by everything mentioned above.

Child Occupant

The 3-year-kid-old's seat was mounted FWF using the adult belt, however, it provided inadequate protection for the chest and could not stop the head from moving forward excessively.

The 1.5-year-old child seat was fastened RWF with the adult belt and provided strong head and weak chest protection. Permanent CRS branding.

The advised CRSs did not reveal any incompatibility. In the centre back seat, the car provides a lap belt. Although the car includes ISOFIX anchorages, they were kept out of sight for customers. The two stars for kid occupant protection result from the aforementioned factors.

Standard Safety Features In Citroen C3

Both trim levels of the vehicle come standard with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, front seat belt reminders, high-speed alert systems, manual child locks on the back doors, and engine immobilisers. A speed-sensitive automatic door lock is another safety feature available on the Feel trim.

Good Drive Factor And Built

Driving the Citroen C3 is enjoyable on city streets and at motorway speeds. Customers can choose between a performance-oriented driving experience with the 1.2L turbo petrol engine and a comfortable driving experience with the 1.2L non-turbo petrol engine.

As we shut the door and heard a "thud," we knew the automobile was well-built and would be safe. We can only hope that the Citroen C3 received favourable results in the Bharat NCAP or Global NCAP crash test ratings.
