Citroen has unveiled its latest electric offering in India, the eC3 Shine, aiming to compete head-on with the recently launched Tata Punch EV. Priced between Rs. 13.2 lakh and Rs. 13.5 lakh (ex-showroom), the top-spec Shine trim promises enhanced features to elevate the electric driving experience.
The new Citroen eC3 Shine has hit the Indian market with an array of features and specifications that position it as a strong contender against its electric rivals. This launch comes in response to the growing competition, especially with the impressive Tata Punch EV making waves in the market.
The eC3 Shine is offered at a premium compared to its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart, the C3 Hatchback. The ICE C3 Shine Non-Turbo variant is priced Rs. 5.44 lakh higher, and the Turbo variant commands a premium of Rs. 4.92 lakh. Additionally, the eC3 Shine is available in Vibe Pack, Dual Tone, and Dual Tone Vibe Pack, with prices ranging from Rs. 13.35 lakh to Rs. 13.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
Maintaining the same dimensions as its ICE counterpart, the eC3 Shine stands at 3,981mm in length, 1,733mm in width, and 1,586mm in height. With a wheelbase of 2,540mm and a ground clearance of 170mm, it offers a comfortable and practical driving experience.
The eC3 Shine is available in a variety of colours to suit individual preferences, adding a touch of personalization to the electric driving experience.
The Shine trim introduces several enhancements over the Feel trim, including 15-inch alloy wheels, electrically adjustable ORVMs, rear washer and wiper, rear defogger, rear parking camera, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The exterior design is further enriched with front and rear silver faux skid plates.
Key features carried over from the Feel trim include dual front airbags, manual air conditioning, remote locking, power windows, and a height-adjustable driver’s seat. The eC3 Shine boasts a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, connected car technology, and a 4-speaker sound system. The MyCitroen Connect app facilitates seamless connectivity and provides crucial information like charging status and location.
The Citroen eC3 Shine retains its power from a 29.2 kWh battery pack coupled with a single electric motor, delivering 57 hp power and 143 Nm torque. It achieves an impressive acceleration from 0-60 km/h in 6.8 seconds, with a top speed of 107 km/h. The DC charging facility allows the battery to charge up to 80% in just 57 minutes, making it convenient for on-the-go charging.
Safety features include dual airbags, ABS with EBD, and the vehicle comes with a 7-year/1,40,000km warranty on the battery pack, 5-year/1,00,000km warranty on the electric motor, and a 3-year/1,25,000km warranty on the vehicle.
