Ducati launched the DesertX adventure bike in India for the price Rs 17.91 lakh (ex-showroom, India).In terms of output levels and displacement, it competes with the likes of the BMW F 850, LML beamer and GS Triumph Tiger 900. However, Tiger 900 is priced at Rs 15.5 lakh for the off-road road rally pro variant range topping and Rs 13.7 lakh for the road-biased GT version, while the Beamer is available for the pricing of Rs 12.50 lakh in standard form, and Rs 13.75 lakh in adventure guise form, with a big fuel tank.
The enthusiasts are excited because the Ducati DesertX is the Italian manufacturer's most awaited adventure bike in the modern era.The Bikemakers claim that it is driven by a 21-inch/18-inch wire-spoke wheel combo, 230mm and 220mm of suspension travel at the front and rear, respectively, and has massive 250mm of ground clearance.Impressively the X came true to its Ducati origin in the frame department, uses traditional trellis frame to make its appearance familiar and traditional. Ducati is class-leading on many fronts. If we do the hauling of the all -New chassis, It appears familiar as 937cc Testastretta L-twin was associated to Panigale V2, Multistrada V2, Monster and Hypermotard 950 and gives output at 110hp and 92Nm, are a little bit lower than on some Testastretta-generated bikes. It is rather euphonious than the other Ducati bikes for a small riding.
It can be brought down to 865 mm after installing an accessory low seat or even lower 845 mm with the low suspension kit which as a standard is positioned with giant 875mm bedeck.
With six riding modes, along with Enduro and Rally modes designed to the use of off-road,electronic suite goes with the ground clearance and suspension travel scale Like a true Ducati origin. Four power modes and a Bosch IMU are attached to accommodate the electronics in providing their service irrespective of orientation of bike.
A slick designed 5.0 inch TFT dash with optional Bluetooth connection is given to control almost everything which is optional. Other optional accessories are an 8-litre auxiliary fuel tank,fog lamps,aluminium luggage units,heated grips. A 21 litre fuel tank (and all other fluids) is the standard which has been stoked with the DesertX that tips the balance against 223 kg.
