From the new BMW M2 to the Ferrari Purosangue, here is the list of all the new high-performance vehicles debuting to the Indian market in 2023
Although it is a small section of our market, performance cars do offer the most exhilarating and exciting vehicles. A number of new high-performance vehicles, such as the Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato, Maserati MC20, Ferrari Purosangue, and Skoda Octavia iV RS, will enter our market in 2023. All the hot new vehicles and SUVs that will be introduced in India during the course of the upcoming year are listed here.
The M division's final pure-combustion vehicle is the second-generation BMW M2. With a frameless kidney grille, boot lid spoiler, low-slung rear diffuser, and quad exit exhausts, the new M2 adopts a squared-off posture. A carbon-fiber roof and the M Race Track package, which increases the vehicle's top speed to 285 kph, are optional options.
The M2's interior features a dual-screen configuration with a 14.9-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.
It is powered by the same 3.0-liter straight-six gasoline engine, known as the "S58," that is featured in the M3 and M4. It is almost as speedy as the M4 with 460 horsepower and 550 Nm of torque at the rear wheels. A 6-speed manual transmission will also be available as an option.
Due: Late in 2023
Engines : 3.0 litre gasoline
Price target: Rs. 1 crore
### Ferrari Purosangue
The Italian automaker's first "four-door, four-seat vehicle" is the first SUV from Ferrari. The front-mid engine position and rear-mounted gearbox of the Purosangue are reminiscent of sports cars. Similar to other Ferrari models, it has split headlamps with air vents to help with aerodynamics on the margins of the bonnet.
Rear doors on the Purosangue have a rear hinge and can open up to 73 degrees. The four-seater has two separate rear seats that are positioned in a dynamic manner. Although there isn't much room in the back, the optional electrochromic glass roof creates an airy feeling. The dashboard has a twin-pod design, with a separate display for the passenger. Although the driver has a decent perspective of the road ahead from the seat, it is not so high that the driver towers over other drivers.
The Ferrari Purosangue's engine, a 6.5-liter V12 with 725 horsepower and 716 pound-feet of torque, is connected to an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and a 2-speed front power transmission.
Ferrari has temporarily stopped accepting orders for the Purosangue due to the tremendous demand for the vehicle. Some clients are having to wait as long as two years. One of the last manufacturers of sports cars to offer a high-end SUV is Ferrari.
Due : Late in 2023
Engine: 6.5-liter gasoline
Price range anticipated: Rs. 6.5 to 7 crore
The Roma Spider, which will replace the Portofino M as Ferrari's entry-level vehicle, will resemble the Roma but have a different roofline and rear end. Both will be comparable mechanically. Due to its heavier weight from the folding top mechanism and additional chassis bracing, the Spider is considered to perform slightly less well than the coupe type.
Due: Late : 2023
Engine: 3.9-liter gasoline
Price range anticipated: Rs. 3.8–4 crore
The only significant stylistic differences between the hardtop and drop-top versions of the 296 GTB will be brought on by the retractable roof.
It can reach 0-100 in 2.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of almost 330 kph, matching the 296 GTB, thanks to the same 830hp, 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 and e-motor combination that powers the 296 GTB.
Engines: 3.0 litre petrol
Expected Price: Rs. 5.5–6 crore
Coming: Mid 2023
### New Lamborghini Aventador
In a configuration akin to the Sian FKP 37 hypercar, Lamborghini's flagship supercar will continue to derive the majority of its power from a large-capacity V12 engine, augmented by electric motors.
Instead of a lithium-ion battery, the Aventador replacement will employ a supercapacitor, which charges three times as quickly as a battery with a comparable capacity.
The new model may have slim headlights like those on the Huracán and large air intakes in the front bumper, according to heavily camouflaged spy photos. The low-slung supercar has gaping air vents in its profile, and it may have top-mounted quad exhausts at the back.
Due: Late in 2023
Engines: To be announced
Targeted Price : Rs. 6.5 crore
The same 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that powers the A 45 S and achieves 0-100kph in 3.9 seconds will continue to deliver 421 horsepower. The A 45 S receives Mercedes' new steering wheel and significantly redesigned head and taillamps on the exterior. Additionally, the touchscreen's new MBUX software has been added.
The current A-class hatchback, which is the priciest and most potent hatchback available for purchase in India, has only been offered as a full-fledged AMG model. The facelift will be offered in the same restricted quantities and as a CBU as the pre-facelift.
Coming: Mid 2023
Expected Price: Rs 85-90 lakh 2.0-liter petrol
The Urus received a facelift, and two new models were born. Both models shared similar mechanical parts, with the exception of the suspension system. The Urus S will be the entry-level model in the lineup and will put more of an emphasis on luxury.
Some aesthetic improvements, including a revised bonnet with cooling vents and significantly more aggressive front and rear bumpers, will be made to the Urus. Although the interior is identical to what it was previously, Lamborghini is providing a wider variety of fabric and trim options to allow for more customization.
The Urus S's 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 continues to be used mechanically, but it now generates 666 horsepower, a 16-horsepower increase over the previous model. An 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission transmits power to all four wheels while maintaining the same torque number of 850Nm.
Coming- mid-2023
Engines: 4.0-liter gasoline
Price estimated: Rs. 4–4.2 crore
Maserati's brand-new mid-engined supercar is the company's first vehicle to utilise an in-house-created engine, known as Nettuno, in 20 years. Other upcoming Maserati vehicles will use this engine as well. Soon, Indian ports should also be served by the open-top MC20 Cielo.
The MC20's design prioritises maximising aerodynamic effectiveness. The MC12 and other well-known Maseratis, as well as the limited-run homologated race car, can be identified as visual influences.
With 630 horsepower and 730 Nm of torque, the 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine propels the vehicle to the rear wheels with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Coming:Mid-2023
Engine:3.0 litre gasoline engines
Price prediction: Rs. 3.5 crore
As a completely built-up (CBU) unit, the Octavia RS iV plug-in hybrid will only be available in a small quantity in India. The RS iV produces 245 horsepower despite having a 1.4-liter turbocharged engine that is smaller than its petrol sibling. The e-motor, however, aids in increasing the torque to 400Nm. The location of the battery pack has significantly reduced the boot space. The 13kWh unit raises the fuel economy to 83kpl and provides it a 60km electric-only range. The RS iV, according to Skoda, can go from 0 to 62 kph using only electric power.
On the inside and outward, the new RS iV differs from the standard models in a subtler, sportier way.
Due: Late in 2023
Engines: 1.4-liter gasoline
Estimated Price: Rs. 45 lakh–50 lakh
