Before the 2022 Scorpio Classic's official launch on August 20, Mahindra has revealed it. We provide you with complete information on the new SUV.
A few months after confirming that the Scorpio, an earlier version of Mahindra's well-known SUV, will continue to be sold alongside the Scorpio-N, the company has unveiled the Scorpio Classic. The vehicle will be available in two types starting on August 20, 2022: the Classic S, which is the entry-level model, and the Classic S 11, which has more features.
The Scorpio Classic has a brand-new look. The new Twin Peaks emblem for Mahindra is featured on the reworked grille, and new front bumpers are also included. Not only that, but the SUV also receives updated LED projector headlamps, new fog lamps, and DRLs. When viewed from the side, the revamped 17-inch wheels stand out, and the Scorpio now has a more upscale appearance than before thanks to its new dual-tone design. After more than a decade, the iconic Tower LED tail lamps are still present on the back. On the SUV, the side-facing rear door also receives traditional badging.
Even though the Scorpio-cabin N's has more features, the cabin nevertheless sees some alterations. The new, larger, and more responsive 9-inch touchscreen is a standout. The previous dark look on the automobile has been replaced by a new dual-tone black and beige theme. You receive an audio control panel and a steering wheel covered in leatherette, albeit most of these items are only available in the more expensive Classic S11 models. Along with a height-adjustable driver's seat, you also get a hybrid instrument cluster. Captain seats and a bench seat are available for the second row, however, the captain seat option is only available on the more expensive Classic S11. A front-facing bench seat, two or four side-facing seats, or four side-facing seats—all of which, regrettably, lack seatbelts—are available in the third row.
The vehicle is powered by a brand-new Gen 2 mHawk 2.2 litre Diesel engine with 128 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque. The 6-speed manual transmission is connected to the engine. There isn't a gasoline, automatic, or 4x4 version available. Mahindra claims to have reduced noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) levels and promises a better ride. The Scorpio comes equipped with 2 airbags and ABS as standard features for safety.
