Jimny 5-door has been spotted in Khardung-la on way to Ladakh. The new range of Maruti Suzuki SUVs is all set to take on the competition with the likes of Hyundai, Mahindra & Tata.
Maruti can no longer just rely on its compact vehicles because the SUV category is growing rapidly. In light of this, the corporation is making strong efforts to increase the selection of SUVs. While the new Brezza and Vitara have started out well, there are still more vehicles on the way, including the Baleno Cross and 5-door Jimny.
Suzuki Jimny is a popular off-road vehicle sold in foreign markets in a 3-door configuration. It might greatly enhance Maruti's standing in the SUV market. It has the power to determine Maruti's future in the same way as the Creta did for Hyundai, Seltos for Kia, Thar, and XUV700 and Scorpio-N did for Mahindra. Ashik Thomas, who observed the SUV as it traveled to Khardung La, is given responsibility for the most recent spy images.
With its lofty appearance and big alloy wheels, the New Jimny commands attention on the street. The broad bumper, slatted grille, and pronounced fenders give the front fascia a distinct personality. The SUV's spherical headlamps match the overall style and feel of the vehicle. Even though Jimny is completely covered in flat panels, it nonetheless manages to be as compelling as a sports vehicle.
The size of the glass panels creates an impression of the spacious interiors of the SUV. All passengers should have enough headroom, shoulder room, and legroom. Like Thar, Maruti wants to promote the Jimny as a family SUV rather than just an off-roader. Most likely, the rear seats can be folded to expand the cargo.
Maruti Jimny 5-door interior features are anticipated to be numerous. It will have an infotainment system with a 7 or 8-inch touchscreen, controls positioned on the steering wheel, rear AC vents, automatic climate control, a USB charging outlet, and cleverly designed storage compartments. The 5-door Jimny is anticipated to have connectivity features.
5-door Jimny will almost certainly use the same powertrain as the 3-door version. The SUV is powered by a 1.5-liter K15 engine that produces 100 bhp and 130 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a 5-speed transmission. The Jimny has a 44 system with a low-range transfer case.
Other off-roading features include a rigid ladder frame, 210mm of ground clearance, ample body angles and clearance, and a 3-link rigid axle suspension with coil spring. In comparison to the 3-door model, the 5-door Jimny is likely to be a more refined version.
Onboard safety kit Traction control, hill hold control, and hill descent control will be standard on the 5-door Jimny. Advanced safety features on the international-spec Jimny include a high beam assist, dual sensor brake support (DSBS), weaving alert, lane departure warning, and traffic sign recognition. Maruti Jimny is expected to arrive in India in 2023. In preparation, 5-door versions of the Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha are being prepared. With aggressive pricing, the Maruti Jimny could become a best-seller in this segment.
