Even before its official release, the Grand Vitara has received over 50,000 reservations; deliveries are scheduled to start in October
Even before its official release, the Grand Vitara has received over 50,000 reservations; deliveries are scheduled to start in October.
On September 26, Maruti Suzuki will reveal the prices for its brand-new flagship SUV, the 2022 Grand Vitara. The new Grand Vitara is made in the Toyota plant in Karnataka and is a badge-engineered cousin of the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. The Grand Vitara SUV will be marketed through Maruti's Nexa stores and will offer both mild and powerful hybrid powertrain options.
The 2019 Grand Vitara gets the 103 horsepower, 1.5-liter K15C petrol mild-hybrid engine from Suzuki as a result of sharing its powertrains with the Toyota Hyryder. Numerous additional Maruti Suzuki cars, most recently the new Brezza compact SUV, use this engine. The engine is mated to either an optional 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission or a 5-speed manual transmission as standard. The Suzuki All-Grip AWD system is an option for the Grand Vitara with this engine.
The Grand Vitara is also equipped with a 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder, 92-horsepower Atkinson cycle petrol engine from Toyota as well as an electric motor that generates 79 horsepower and 141-Nm of torque. The hybrid drivetrain's total output is 115 horsepower, and it is mated to an e-CVT transmission. The Grand Vitara is 27.97 kmpl efficient, according to the manufacturer.
As Maruti Suzuki's flagship SUV, the Grand Vitara is available in six trim levels and is packed with goodies including a 360-degree camera, wireless charger, ambient lighting, and linked car technology with Google and Siri speech compatibility. The Grand Vitara is well-equipped for safety, including six airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, a tyre pressure monitoring system, a hill-hold assist, and ESP.
The Hyryder and the Grand Vitara seem very distinct from one another, in contrast to some of the earlier products from the Suzuki-Toyota cooperation in India. With a pointed snout and a broad grille with a noticeable chrome strip in between, the Maruti SUV sports a more aggressive appearance. Both vehicles share a similar profile, although the Grand Vitara features different alloy wheels and additional chrome accents.
The only significant inside difference between the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and the Hyryder is the varied colour choices. Both receive a steering wheel with the same layout as other, more recent Maruti Suzuki cars. The power window switches, vents, and even the AC controls are identical.
The Grand Vitara joins other well-known competitors including the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, and the Toyota Hyryder in the fiercely competitive midsize SUV sector. For the low cost of Rs 11,000, reservations for the Grand Vitara are already being accepted, and delivery will start in October.
