Mercedes-Benz has launched the all-new CLE Cabriolet in India, priced at ₹1.10 crore (ex-showroom). The convertible is positioned between the C-Class and E-Class Cabriolet models.
Mercedes-Benz has introduced the all-new CLE Cabriolet in the Indian market, with a price tag of ₹1.10 crore (ex-showroom). The new CLE Cabriolet from Mercedes-Benz occupies a niche between the brand’s C-Class and E-Class Cabriolet models, effectively replacing the previously discontinued variants in this segment. The latest convertible, CLE Cabriolet arrives in India as a fully imported model, available exclusively in the AMG Line trim.
The new CLE Cabriolet is based on the Modular Rear Architecture (MRA) platform, shared with the recently launched C-Class and the upcoming next-generation E-Class. Compared to the C-Class sedan, the CLE Cabriolet features a longer overall length and borrows styling cues from both the C-Class and E-Class models.
Key design elements include a larger grille with a shark-nose effect, a long bonnet, and a soft-top fabric roof that folds away into the boot. The AMG Line trim adds sportier touches, such as more pronounced bumpers with larger air intakes and new alloy wheel designs.
The 2024 Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabriolet is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system. This powertrain generates 254 bhp and 400 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 9-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The CLE 300 Cabriolet can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in 6.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 250 kmph.
The cabin of the CLE Cabriolet borrows heavily from the C-Class, featuring a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and an 11.9-inch vertically-stacked infotainment system. The model offers a four-seater (2+2) layout and is the first cabriolet from Mercedes-Benz to feature separate head airbags for rear passengers. The red soft-top roof can be opened or closed at up to 60 kmph of speed and in the shortest duration of 20 seconds.
