MG Astor Savvy with ADAS priced at Rs. 15.78 lakhs
The Astor is the fresh addition to MG’s line-up. The manufacturer said that the ADAS features will be served as an optional extra on the Sharp variant. Now, MG did launch a new Savvy variant that comes with ADAS as standard. MG is the new top-end variant of the Astor and makes it the affordable vehicle in India to offer ADAS features.
The Savvy variant of Astor starts at Rs. 15.78 lakhs ex-showroom. It comes with a 1.5-litre engine with a CVT transmission. The turbo petrol engine with automatic transmission costs Rs. 17.38 lakhs ex-showroom.
The Savvy variant of Astor starts comes with level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. The Savvy variant adds Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Prevention, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Change Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control. You also get a Front Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Speed Assist System and Intelligent Headlamp Control. You can read what each feature does by clicking here. The Savvy variant costs around Rs. 80,000 more than the Sharp variant which sits right below the Savvy variant.
MG is offering two petrol engines with the Astor. There is no diesel on offer. It comes with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine. The naturally aspirated petrol engine produces 110 PS and 144 Nm. It is offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a CVT automatic transmission. The turbocharged engine produces 140 PS and 220 Nm. It is offered only with a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
MG Astor Savvy Safety
MG offers dual airbags, Electronic Stability Program, Anti-lock Braking System, Electronic Brake Distribution, Brake Assist, Traction Control, Rear Parking Sensors, Active cornering brake control, Hill Hold Control, Hill Descent Control, Emergency Stop Signal, All 4 Disc Brakes, Emergency Fuel Cutoff and ISOFIX Child Seat mounts as standard. On the higher variants, you get 4 or 6 airbags, Electric Parking Brake with Auto hold, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, Rear Parking Camera or 360-degree Parking Camera, Heated outside rearview mirrors and Front Fog Lamp with Cornering Assist.
** MG Astor Savvy Varients **
The Astor is offered in five variants. There are Style, Super, Smart, Sharp and Savvy. The prices of the Astor starts at Rs. 9.78 lakhs ex-showroom and go up to Rs. 17.38 lakhs ex-showroom. You can get every variant with an automatic gearbox except for the Style trim because it is the base variant. The turbocharged petrol engine is offered with the Smart, Sharp and Savvy trims. MG is offering the turbo petrol engine with more variants to attract the enthusiasts as its rivals offer the more powerful engine only with the top-end trims which make them expensive.
