Let's find out what January 2023 has in store, from sedans and cabriolets to SUVs or MPVs, ICEs or EVs. In the coming days, we will also explore the schedule of debuts and unveilings at the Auto Expo 2023.
The redesigned Hector SUV will be the first new product to be released by an OEM in 2023 on January 5; it will be released by Morris Garages India. The event will probably be the Hector Plus facelift's Indian debut. A number of the modifications that will be included in the Hector facelift have already been shown in spy photos, including a 14-inch infotainment system that is stacked vertically. The model's powertrain options should remain the same as in the previous iteration.
On January 6, 2023, Mercedes-Benz will introduce the E53 AMG Cabriolet, marking the start of its 2023 season. The vehicle, which is slated to become the fourth 53-branded model in the nation, will be propelled by a 3.0-liter, six-cylinder gasoline engine and a mild hybrid powertrain with a combined output of 429 horsepower. At this launch event, Mercedes-Benz India will also present its annual road map.
When it comes to new vehicle introductions this winter, BMW is on a roll. Two sedans will be released next month. Brand earlier this month debuted the revised M340i and the XM flagship performance SUV. The BMW i7 all-electric sedan's price will be revealed on January 7th. A 101.7kWh battery pack and two electric motors are said to power the vehicle, giving it a range of 512 kilometres on a single charge.
In September 2022, Mahindra officially unveiled the XUV400 EV, which is ready for production. The XUV400, whose pricing will be revealed in January 2023, has already been driven. However, neither the precise date nor the brand's participation in the Auto Expo the following month have been made public by Mahindra. The model has a stated range of 456 kilometres on a single charge and is powered by a 39.4 kWh battery pack that generates 150 horsepower and 310 Nm of torque.
Both the BMW i7 and the new BMW 7 Series will be unveiled at the company's Joytown event in Mumbai. Inside and exterior, the new 7 Series has a completely new design. Highlights include a 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, revised front and back bumpers, and an illuminated kidney grille. The 31-inch 8k theatre display installed on the roof will be the model's main selling point.
The Toyota Innova Hycross has already started showing up at local dealerships across the nation, giving some indication that the prices may be revealed in the upcoming weeks. The Innova Zenix vehicle, which made its world debut a week earlier in Indonesia, would be available in India with two different powertrain options: a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with a hybrid system. Customers will be able to select from five different variations in seven different colours. There will also be seven- and eight-seat options available.
The final Joytown festival will be hosted by BMW in Bangalore, and we anticipate that the German automaker will unveil two updated models for the Indian market, one of which may be the facelifted X7. Prior to being postponed, the company had previously set a launch on December 10. The next X7 is likely to get mild-hybrid powertrains and a new 4.4-liter V8 engine, in addition to the contentious split headlight design.
The 2023 X7 is most likely to be introduced alongside the updated BMW 3 Series, generally referred to as Life Cycle Impulse (LCI in BMW jargon), on January 28 in Bengaluru. This facelift was first unveiled in May of this year. Returning to the 3 Series, the mid-life update of the model brings a number of improvements to both the interior and exterior. The model's engine will probably get a 48V mild-hybrid system in addition to the present selection of powertrains.
In advance of the Ioniq 5's price announcement, which is anticipated to take place in the coming weeks, Hyundai recently presented the vehicle for the Indian market. Due to the CKD process, the model, which is supported by the same e-GMP platform as the Kia EV6, will be somewhat less expensive. Notably, the EV6 is imported via CBU as opposed to its future relative. The 72.6kWh battery pack powering the Ioniq 5 will produce 214 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque and have an ARAI-certified range of 631 kilometres on a single charge.
After the C5 Aircross and the C3, Citroen India is getting ready to introduce its third model, the eC3, to the local market. In the second half of January 2023, the model that is ready for production is most likely to be unveiled. There are currently few details available about the model, but we anticipate a 20-30kWh battery pack with a 200-250km range per charge.
