It displays a cutting-edge Hyundai design. While the mini UV was doing test runs in South Korea, detailed spy images of the production-spec Hyundai Exter were received. This new model from the Hyundai stable is planned to enter a highly competitive niche later this year and will compete against the Tata Punch, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, and Citroen C3

It will also be in direct competition with the brand-new Maruti Fronx. Early July 2023 is when Exter production is expected to start, and August 2023 is when the market launch is planned, just in time for the holiday shopping season. The exterior of the next Hyundai Exter may be seen in the most recent spy photos.

Engine and Transmission Specs

Specs of the engine and gearbox The Venue, Grand i10, Nios, and Aura's engine lineup will be used in the Hyundai Exter. A 5-speed manual or 5-speed automatic gearbox is coupled to this 1.2 litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine, which has 83 horsepower and 113.8 Nm of torque. Hyundai may provide a 1.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine as well as a CNG Exter, even though a diesel option is improbable. Another option is an electric Exter.

Previous spy images showed the Exter being tested in the snow. Along with traction control, it might also come with drive modes like off-road mode, city mode, etc. The new Exter will distinguish itself from its competitors by offering competitive prices. Hyundai Exter pricing could vary from Rs. 6 to 12 lakh (ex-showroom), giving it the ability to compete with several sub-10 lakh compact SUVs in addition to micro SUVs.

Exterior Design

Exter Road Presence by Hyundai Revealed Despite sharing a chassis with the Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS, the Hyundai Exter will have new aesthetics. It will be listed last in the corporate lineup, after the Venue.

A new front end with a three-layer appearance is displayed in spy photos. It gets split headlights and new LED DRLs in the shape of an 'H' that serves as turn signals. Additionally, the front grille is completed in black, and the chin and cladding are part of the third layer.

Its side design features include big front and rear doors for convenient cabin access, dual-tone 15-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, and flared wheel arches with strong cladding. The A, B, and C pillars of the Exter also receive black matte-finished cladding.

The tail end is upright and has an H-shaped LED-equipped tail lamp, a tall bumper, a shark fin antenna, and a built-in spoiler. The Hyundai Exter, which will be positioned below the Venue, does appear to be huge for an SUV based on recent spy photos from South Korea.

Some of its interior design cues come from the Grand i10 NIOS hatchback. It might have a sizable touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as linked car technology. Other features can include keyless entry, automatic climate control, a multi-function steering wheel, an electric sunroof, ventilated front seats, and an electric sunroof.

Six airbags in total, cruise control, etc., will ensure safety. All automobiles and SUVs must have six airbags by law, and this regulation is expected to take effect by October 2023. Given that Hyundai recently added a number of safety features to its premium hatchbacks, the Creta, Venue, and i20, including three-point seat belts and an adjustable rear headrest, similar elements would also be included on the new Exter.
