Nissan prepares to introduce the X-Trail SUV in India, expanding its lineup. The 7-seater vehicle will feature a 1.5L turbo petrol engine with mild-hybrid technology.

Nissan X-Trail Specs Unveiled: Premium 7-Seater SUV Coming to India

Nissan is set to expand its Indian portfolio by introducing the X-Trail SUV, positioning it as the brand's flagship offering. The company has revealed specifications for the India-spec X-Trail ahead of its launch, showcasing a 7-seater configuration powered by a 1.5-liter 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine. This powertrain mated to a CVT gearbox and featuring a 12V mild-hybrid system, produces 163 bhp and 300 Nm of torque. The X-Trail's arrival marks the beginning of Nissan's product expansion in India, with plans to follow up with the xSUVs in the premium segment. It can be expected to be priced around ₹ 40 Lakhs ex-Showroom.

The India-spec Nissan X-Trail boasts the following dimensions:

Length: 4,680 mm

Width: 1,840 mm

Height: 1,725 mm

Wheelbase: 2,705 mm

Ground clearance: 210 mm

Turning radius: 5.5 m

Exterior features of the X-Trail include LED headlights and tail lights, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, and a panoramic sunroof. The SUV will be available in three color options: Solid White, Diamond Black, and Champagne Silver.

Inside, the X-Trail is equipped with an 8-inch infotainment screen, a 12.3-inch digital driver's display, dual-zone climate control, and a wireless charger. The second-row seats offer a 60:40 split, while the third row features a 50:50 split, both with reclining functionality.

Safety features are comprehensive, including seven airbags, hill start assist, ABS, EBD, TPMS, an ADAS suite, and a limited-slip differential. The vehicle also comes with paddle shifters for enhanced driver control.

Nissan plans to import the X-Trail to India as a completely built unit (CBU), which may result in higher pricing due to import taxes. Upon launch, the X-Trail will compete with other premium SUVs in the market such as the Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, Skoda Kodiaq, and Jeep Meridian.

The introduction of the X-Trail signifies Nissan's commitment to strengthening its presence in the Indian automotive market, moving beyond its current sole offering, the Magnite. As the company prepares for this launch, it is also testing a facelifted version of the Magnite, indicating further updates to its product lineup in the near future.
