The much-awaited electric scooter from Ola will hit the Indian roads soon as bookings for the vehicle commence at Rs 499.

Though much of Ola Electric Scooter features is under wraps, Bhavish Agarwal, Chairman and CEO of OLA Group has offered insights into some of the exciting features available in the Ola Electric Scooter. They include under-the-seat storage space up to 50L, keyless app-based access, and long-range charge. This scooter is now open for bookings at Rs 499 and is initially spied in three colour combinations, pink, blue, and black.
Besides the innovative features listed above, the Ola Electric Scooter offers cloud connectivity, a digital instrument cluster, a removable Li-ion battery pack, alloy wheels, and telescopic suspension.
Ola plans to introduce new colours to the two-wheeler segment, with pink and light blue being the preferred options today. Interested buyers can place their bookings online at the official website of Ola Electric by paying a refundable deposit of Rs 499. The company has stated that the initial bookers will get priority in the allotment.
Reports indicate that Ola has invested up to Rs 2400 crores in setting up a state-of-the-art production plant in collaboration with Siemens in Krishnagiri district, Tamil Nadu. This plant aims to become India’s largest two-wheeler production unit with a capacity of manufacturing one crore units per annum.
Besides, the new plant will comply with Industry 4.0 norms and generate approximately 10000 employment opportunities. Ola plans to spread its wings to Europe, Asia, and Latin America.
Ola e-scooter will probably hit the roads in the second half of 2021. The company envisages a maximum range of up to 240 km on a single charge. The scooter displays acceleration from 0 to 45 kmph in 3.9 seconds, whereas the top speed could touch 80 kmph.
The pricing of the Ola e-scooter could be in the Rs 1 lakh range to compete with similar models, Ather 450X, TVS iQube, and Bajaj e-Chetak. Ola plans to fuel the EV revolution in India by introducing its e-scooter and thus, play its part in environmental conservation.
