Renault has revealed its India as well as Global plan for next 3 years. The French car maker plans to have 5 new models in India in next 3 years. Also, the new brand logo & identity will replace the old ones all across the lineup.
Renault, the French brand famous for its off road capable Duster SUV, currently has only 3 products in its India lineup. The entry level hatchback Kwid, the compact SUV Kiger and the sub 4 meter MPV Triber are the three products that are driving the Renault brand in India. However, in a media event held in New Delhi on 9th Jan 2024, Renault revealed its India and global game plan for the next 3 to 4 years.
In the event, Renault revealed that it plans to bring 5 new models in India in the next 3 years. Out of these 5 models, 2 will be next generations of the on-sale products i.e. next gen Triber and next gen Kiger. Among the other two, one will be a new B+ segment SUV and a C segment SUV. The fifth and the last one will be a localized EV that will be designed and developed for the Indian customers and the Indian market.
Moreover, guessing about the new B+ segment SUV mentioned above, we expect it to be the new generation Renault Duster, which was globally revealed as the Dacia Duster last year. Renault might launch it in India sometime in 2025. Renault also announced a further alliance planned investment of 600 million USD (5,300 cr INR) in India.
Apart from its India plan, Renault also revealed its international game plan 2027. With this, Renault plans to invest around 3 billion Euros across the globe and ensure a 2 platform and 5 hubs strategy. This means the brand will use just 2 platforms for all its products and its main hubs will be Latin America, Turkey, India, South Korea and Morocco.
As its international strategy, Renault also plans to double its per unit net revenue and completely replace its old logo and old brand identity with the new ones. Moreover, the brand also aims for 1/3rd of its sales from hybrid or electric vehicles by 2027 and 100% carbon neutral vehicle plants by 2045.

Verdict: With the announcement of 5 new products in the next 3 years, Renault has strengthened its commitment towards India and the Indian consumers. Moreover, with India being in the list of the 5 most important hubs of Renault, it looks like the brand is seriously looking at making the country an export hub for its other markets like Africa and South America.
